Two colleagues, incidentally both from Camroun if that possibly explains it, had the hardest time believing my insistence that indeed, the Sun is a star much like any other.

I edited it after re-reading it. I definitely didn't mean it in a degrading way, they're both brilliant guys and I get along very well with them. It just seemed kind of uncanny that the only two people who have ever told me that they didn't think the Sun was a star are both from Cameroon. For all I know, elementary school in Cameroon is standardized federally and somehow teaches something that leads people to perceive the Sun differently than other stars. That's all I was referring to.

I knowledge gap I see on this forum is a lack of understanding the difference between a sentence and a question.

I always see sentences that start with "I don't know...." or "I thought that...." and end with a question mark. Those aren't questions.

On a grammatical note, it really grinds my gears when people write that Player XYZ is going to resign when they mean re-sign. Especially since they have completely opposite meanings!

I used a used thermometer that had "rectal" written in sharpie once thinking it said "rental"....

At the time I had no clue people put thermometers up babies butts.
