Maybe that's because, you know, salt pairs well with almost every fruit. Apples, watermelon, strawberries, bananas, etc. But I wouldn't see it's a common practice for eating raw fruits like this (no cooking, no salad, etc)

Too bad people are too cool for this thread, because these do happen all over. We were just talking about this at work and there were a few that blew my mind.

I'm saying salt pairs well with bananas. People eat peanut butter (which generally is salty unless you buy specific, unsalted brands which is not the common practice amongst most people) with bananas all the time, though.
