Quick thoughts...

PLE - Great game. This line is the Jets' best now. Ehlers was just flying. Little continued his solid play. Perreault very effective.

CWL - Line continues to struggle to find their game. I think it's because Wheeler has focused so much on his responsibilities as a C and isn't really using his speed and puck pursuit. Laine with a very solid game, in all facets. Connor was decent.

TCA - Armia with a great game. Outstanding on the PK. Copp is a good C. Tanev was really struggling.

DHR - Terrific game for Roslovic and Dano. Roslovic >> Matthias, and should stay in the line-up. Dano continued his strong play. Hendricks is consistent, but this line would be so much better with a faster and more skilled C.

44-8 Morrissey was rock solid. Trouba shook off some early rust and had an outstanding 3rd period.

39-33 Solid game for this pairing. Buff was good at picking his spots.

5-57 Kulikov was steady. Myers got better as the game progressed.

Hellebuyck was solid after a bit of an unsteady 1st.

Reffing was brutally inconsistent.

The only thing consistent about reffing in the NHL is that's it inconsistent and that was on display again today.

Player post-game audio: Hellebuyck, Wheeler & Perreault.

Coach Maurice post-game scrum topics: Thoughts on how his team played. On the Jets not losing focus. On the goal that was called back. On the challenge. On the Jets developing a playoff mindset. Did he like the way they managed the 3 on 3 OT? How close is the PK to where he would like it to be? Is he thinking about starting Hellebuyck again tomorrow?

Great game to go to for my first NHL game, wow that was fun. Flames fans are fun, jets fans more so!

Idk how it looked on TV but Laine's move in overtime, my goodness. And Ehlers looks even better in person. What an exciting game. Well worth not eating for the next week! ;)

That was a really big win. I was doubtful to honest, every game without Scheifele (and Lowry) the Jets win is a bonus.

Little is an interesting player I was thinking about this during the OT. He is not very creative with the puck. Actually he is not creative at all. But he's effective at all other parts of the game. I get why Maurice plays his defensively suspect wingers with Little. But don't expect lots of offense. In that 3v3 Little's lack of vision was pretty apparent. But he doesn't give up much so yeah.

Favorite part of the game was Mike Smith trying to f*** with Laine. Pretty funny.

Refs felt bad for overturning a goal (even though it WAS interference) so they gave Calgary the benefit of the doubt the rest of the game.

We should have had 2, probably 3 more powerplays than we did. Whatevsies, we wonned!

I think the plan was originally to go with Hutch tomorrow night, but after the way he came across in the media, he may have burned his remaining chances to get back to the NHL through the Jets. I predict we'll see Helle again.

Maurice said he doesn't like playing a goalie 3 in four nights so if Helle plays tomorrow does Hutch play in San Jose?

I hate shootouts

I do, too. But I'm old enough to remember watching games where it was painfully obvious that both teams had decided to play for a tie, often with half a period left in the game.

My preference would be to eliminate three point games. They should play two overtime periods, 5 minutes each, of 4 on 4 hockey. If nobody scores, each team gets a point. If one team scores, they get two points and the loser actually loses, zero points.
