Panarin, Kakko and Kravy made an effort.

The Vets are off to a slow start again. Same story as last year. I'm sure they will get going, but the Rangers need to start stealing wins to bide the time otherwise they will fall behind the eight ball quick.

Schneider looks raw. Laffy looks lazy. He's probably the most troubling.

Blais gets 20 games from me, but I see where this is going.

That was more of what I was expecting heading into the season, struggling to generate high quality chances in the offensive zone, sloppy coming out of their own zone. Didn't expect piss poor goaltending on top of it but that's the result. This team sorely lacks the ability to string plays together, relying exclusively on Panarin and Fox to do all of the heavy lifting. Kakko had stepped up before the last couple of games but hasn't been noticeable and Lafreniere has been useless since Winnipeg. Chytil getting hurt is a terrible loss too, he provides so much speed and energy and is one of the few forwards who can carry the puck up ice with control. Unfortunately Jones hasn't been good either so the defense is continuing to struggle in transition.

I'm not really going to waste time overreacting to the results of game 6, but I genuinely don't get why they got so in their head about how they played defensively after the first 3 games. They were playing with so much more pace and were way more assertive with the puck, and it made it really hard for teams to defend them. They should've kept that style going and let the rest of their structure fall into place. :dunno:

I wouldn’t say they were bad. They just lost to themselves. Shit goaltending performance and a failure to bury some other chances. I’d say less concerning than a loss like last game but more frustrating in some ways.

I think last game makes this one sting more too. A lot of us expected the Rangers to come out firing on al cylinders.

If you would like to hear a legitimate concern, one injury really exposes our depth.

As soon as Chytil went down we had two lines where you go take a piss instead of just the 4th line.

And what about our "two # lines"? Even the PP was trash where we only scored because of a gift. Also Trochek sucks. The guy blows every great opportunity he gets.

zero intensity. zero structure to fall back on.

Panarin was the only one that somewhat showed up. Fox had some decent looks.

Team can't finish. Can't score greasey goals. Avoid the middle of the ice again. Puck watching and floating about.

THIS TEAM NEEDS A MILITANT COACH that somewhat comprehends modern hockey.

This is what their third game in six with 11 forwards? That doesn’t help. Also, really don’t understand the decision to start Halak given Igor was rested and they have a back-to-back coming up.

Rough one to watch. Just felt like a sleepy mid-afternoon game with nothing to it. I don't think the Rangers game was as bad as some make it out to be but it definitely wasn't their best. And I hate to break it down to something so simple but the difference in the game was their goalie was very good and our goalie was very bad. Goals 2 and 3 cannot go in and that's the difference between a 1 goal game with a team on the 2nd end of a back to back and a game that's essentially over halfway through. I really hope this isn't going to be what we see from Halak going forward because if that's the case, they're going to have to be in the market for a backup.

I'm not going to go full snowblind after 2 games.I love Chytil, but the kid misses more time injured and it kills his seasons.Freak injury I know, but he's still injury prone.our entire 3rd pairing basically gives the opponent power play time..that's how much they get hemmed in their own zone
