Only Panarin, Fox, and Miller logged more ice time than Trocheck... he had more ice time than Zibanejad...

Rangers aren't going to win many games with that nonsense happening. There is no logical reason for Trocheck to have the 2nd most ice time amongst forwards. Its insanity. He's not that good.

Yes, Chytil got hurt. Trocheck logged that much ice time the game prior as well.

I think saying Schneider regressed is a bit of an overstatement. He has not looked tremendous but Jones has looked far worse. Jones can't win a puck along the boards at all. He's just downright useless in most of the defensive aspects of the game. Schneider is trying to cover for him and often puts himself out of position because his defensive partner is not god.

I honestly thought Jones was decent in his first few games - even more noticeable than Schneider (in a good way). Could've been the adrenaline though

Will have to wait and see if he can make the adjustments necessary to stay in the lineup

Schneider wasn’t that good last year, he just looks the part so he gets more rope.

Jones has been so/so, I hope they just allow them to work. I’d rather see Jones than Hajek who I know is a bum and will always be a bum

Schneider and Jones are still incredibly green. It'll be 3-4 years before each of them really hit their stride. Be prepared for ugliness at times. The team needs a better 7th option IMO. In the meantime, perhaps the solution is to break up Fox/Lindgren and Trouba/Miller.

The takes in here are scorching.

The first few games of this season are exactly what I expected, honestly. Dominant some nights, but a team still obviously with some warts that still isn't sure who their best 12 forwards are.

Sorry, I missed the game but why is everyone blamig the bottom pairing D? It's rare to see the bottom pairing D have such a strong impact so I question whether they're fully to blame.

How has Kravtsov looked? Getting chemistry with anyone yet?

At least we're not peaking in October and then burnt out by April.

At the same time these last number of games all have been against losing teams... Sharks Columbus Jets... These are not good teams. Not really concerned yet but we may need these points later...

Not f***ing Ryan Reaves and it drives me up the wall that he's allowed to be on the ice for two goals against.

I agree with your overall point but I needed to say that.

The sad part is Reaves is our best motivator. Everyone has a dry toast personality or doesn't speak English. Reaves is just not build for modern day hockey and needs to be plugged in when needed.

We've lacked energy and urgency. We look like the team is playing through sickness. Sleepwalking through games.. going through the motions...

This game is on Benoit Allaire and Gallant just as much as anything else.

Unless Shesty is hurt or something, there's no reason for him not to start tonight. Shesty against COL and Halak against NYI then Shesty @DAL and Halak against AZ.

I would unironically pay Reaves to stand in the hall and do "Shesty release us" and then not play.

Get him a badass sleeveless hoodie, a bullet belt, and an Amon Amarth helmet with some f***ing spikes on it.

That's his job now.

This time there can at least not be any question about the team needs to improve — we were simply out worked.

All our top 6 forwards played a finesse game, our 3rd line disappeared with Chytil. Overall Columbus outworked is pretty badly.

You want our backup to start against the Islanders?

As a mod, you can kindly get that shit out of here.

I would be deleting posts for three days.
I definitely don't want him starting against COL.

If they have the balls to start Shesty for the b2b great.

So you're saying we shouldn't fire the coach who brought us to the ECF, trade our star players and tank for Bedard and Michkov?

Talk to me after a few more losses. Right now, I'm getting all of my snarky jokes ready about hoping for the 11th pick in the draft, but it being our pick instead of the Dallas pick

I'll tell you 55 and the 2LD worry me. I think the move to upgrade is there. If 55 stays healthy(he crouched over again last night) we slot him as 3LD and use the tradedeadline as 2LD...We hope Jones can stick to 3LD but if 55 gets hurt ..............2LD leaves us very vunerable

The issue with this team goes back to last season, they are inconsistent with scoring at ES. Heck the shitty Ducks outscored them 5 on 5, that's not supposed to happen with this elite group.

It's still early, and they have to figure some things out, so they don't go into a slide.

Do you have examples of interviews where he said such things after bad games ? I feel there’s too much unwarranted hate towards him…
I tried to look for examples on YT but only found interviews posted by the team media after they won. Why is that?!

He's played off bad performances. You just have to believe me.

Their finishing has been bad.

We get looks but we need to start hitting some shots. Trocheck with posts. Players having open net to shoot at and hit the goalie instead.... and the dreaded overpassing.

We need to attack the middle of the ice. Can't go low to high and have everyone on the perimeter. We need more greasy goals. We wait too long to shoot for a perfect shot. quick release/shooting right off the pass is more important than anything in modern day hockey imo
