Group A, Core 4, >……………………………………………..47 million accounted for 131 goals
Group B, The rest of the forwards - Laughton, ……13.8 million accounted for 90 goals

Which group is not pulling their share?
And if we are being fair let’s minus the PPG’s which the rest of the forwards are at a disadvantage since they log little time
131- 40=91
90- 12=78

So a 13 goal difference
Its amplifies how overpaid our Core 4 are and how much stronger & Cup Competitive the rest of the team could really be if they (Core 4) weren't so overpaid. :wg:

That’s just stupid to say. Seriously.

Just stop.
Florida is done. I don't know how you can watch today's game against Ottawa and conclude that they are going to roll off 6 straight wins to end the season. They won't. The Leafs will tonight and against Florida next week, so worst case they go into the Tampa game up 3 or 5 points on Tampa. After the Tampa game, they have one difficult game against Carolina, and then they play Montreal, Buffalo, Detroit. Tampa has to play road games, at least half of which they will lose based on their road record this season. The math just isn't in Florida or Tampa's favour, that's all. It doesn't mean the Leafs are some kind of juggernaut.

LOL, you can say that again.

It's like you can't say that the odds weigh heavily in favour of the Leafs winning the division without someone doing their sad sack routine by saying "but you know the Leafs!". The numbers are the numbers. Sure, the Leafs could lose every one of their remaining games and Tampa could win all of their games, but the odds are that each team will finish the season as they have played it to this point. Teams generally don't make up 4 or 5 point deficits at this point in the season.

You are comparing 4 players to 10…

46 of those 90 goals are from McMann and Knies, both of which are in the top 6, #5 and 7 amongst forwards in PP time and one of which is still on his ELC

The remaining 8 forwards 11.6mill 44 goals

Lets at least try not to be disingenuous

Really if the Leafs won tonight and Tampa lost to the Sabres (and the Sens - Panthers game holds) Leafs would be up 5 on 2nd place with 6 games to go.

Leafs could only win 2 of the last 6 and would only miss if Tampa won all their remaining games

Break it down your way, that’s fine. I was just comparing the core 4 to the rest of the forwards

You have absolutely 0 clue what you're talking about, it is astonishing, and like usual, you won't respond because you can never address any fact.

We spend 3 million on goaltending, go check how much the most recent cup winners spent.

No need to tank, but trading 3 first round picks plus Minten MAY have gotten us into the top 5 to find that Makar. We will never know.

lol... Like there is a Makar every draft. Maybe every 4 or 5 drafts

And if Makar is there why are they trading their pick for a bunch of quantity?

The math is easy. Even give Tampa a win today and it still is a very uphill climb, especially given tiebreakers. Florida is totally done even if they find a way to get a point out of this game.

Hahaha, you just can’t accept comparing 47 million in salary to 13.8. Fine .

It’s just a silly argument to use raw goals as a reason to critique the top 4

47 million to be offensive contributors, play solid defensively, go up against other teams top lines, run our special teams and dominate their minutes. They’re doing what they are paid to do.

Knies and McMann are well exceeding their paychecks which is a massive positive.

The remaining 11 million is largely wasted on players that don’t quite fit any role, provide minimal offense or physicality and most can’t be trusted defensively.

So ya, the 47 million is a much more efficient use of money than any other forward not named Knies or McMann
