News: Columbus taking calls on multiple players.

Not that I am supporting this, but LA is already retaining part of Provorov's deal as part of that three way deal this summer.

Anybody recall a team that is already retaining money on a player trying to acquire him? Is it forbidden?

Why did they even trade for Provorov in the first place? I don't understand any of the Jackets moves like the horrendous Severson and Gaudreau contracts.
Trading for Provorov and Severson was a move to bolster team defense and attempt to contend for a play off spot.

Now that the plan has failed, it might be worth trading Provorov giving his contract and the fact that Kings retained a solid bit of his salary

I think the plan was to insulate the kids with some decent veterans to start competing for a playoff spot. Something Buffalo needs to do. It just hasn't worked out for a myriad of reasons. The kids have been their best players.

It isnt forbidden. It is forbidden for a team to re-acquire a player within a year when the other team is retaining (not the gaining team)

This just in, Columbus has joined a throng of other NHL Franchises in being willing to move players no other team wants.

well, Laine and Provorov are good players and they're still relatively young. so, if there's a way to smooth over the money, there probably would be some interest. Laine is injury prone but he is 25 and his deal is only 3 years. I could still see someone taking a chance -he's far better than he's shown in Columbus this year.

He’s the captain and the player with most games for the franchise

You don’t trade someone like that easily

Of course it won't be easy but I'd be surprised if he wants to play out the final 2 years of that deal in Columbus.

It's not working there. Give the Captain a chance to win somewhere else.

Absolutely not. His lazy ass makes him one of the more unlikable players in the league
Is he really lazy tho ? Like he's just that talented that he can come back from getting hurt what seems like constantly and then preform to a top line level? Maybe he is naturally just amazing but it's impressive imo

i could see him putting a lot of work into his recoveries and whatever cuz if he was ltired I don't think anyone would question it but he keeps coming back and at a high level .
