A lot of fight in this team. This was a good solid win, a game you should win and it wasn't ever really that close.

Looking forward to how the next couple games go in western Canada.

Literally got in and turned on the game just in time to see the first goal against.

Dunno why I even try.
6-3 convincing win. THIS is why you try! Think of Jimmy V, don't give up...don't ever give up! ;)

The sell notion will quickly go away as we MIGHT be competing for a WC spot
Depending on the teams injury situation on defense, Mateychuk can easily come in and replace everything Provorov adds to the team.

With the Fabbro addition, and now a guy like Hunt, we seemingly have more than enough guys to “fill out” our defense on the bottom pairing.

Not bad, I am agree. The important think we have the second line too. So pressure on the first line is less.

Also I love Voronkov and Sillinger today. Cole brings some much needed toughness to the second line. He could be Jenner No. 2. But if the line is going to look good against good teams, where would Chinakhov play?

What with Harris?

Agree with you on Meteychuk taking over for Provorov.

What is it that’s keeping our PK from being successful? Any ideas?
Sillinger, Provorov, and our goaltending. IMO

I know others will say Severson. Think Kuraly has been out there too much also. Overall, we still don’t have a great group of defensive forwards, or defense. Fabbro ain’t really it either. Still more of a 4-5 D, IMO. That said we are also missing both our best defensive forward and defenseman, in Jenner and Gudbranson.

Seems like Evason has gone away from Christiansen on the PK and in general, which I don’t understand. I think he’s better than Severson/Provorov defensively. I guess Fabbro has a lot to do with it. I’m still waiting for Mateychuk.

I’d go heavy on Monahan and Voronkov out there on the PK, and probably look to make them the top 2 centers even strength. ZAR should also be getting PK time, and Olivier. I like Danforth more 5 on 5. No Sillinger or Kuraly.

We look good today.
Chicago is pretty terrible. I realized that today.

Meanwhile the Pens have 10x the chance we have and are 10-12-4 with a -28 goal differential. We’re 11-9-3 and have less than a 1% chance? Other 11 win teams seem to have around a 30% chance. Seems to be based on a lot of pre-season preconceived notions.

the models are complex

If I had to pick one thing to pin this turnaround on, it's Monahan. You don't just get #1 centers for free. We somehow did and it's worked out tremendously. He's a damn good pro. Does it all.

hate to be that guy but if we’re playing this well without #13 just imagine how much more potential we’d have with JG in the lineup.

the boys are playing so well for him this year, that’s for sure.

Not to nitpick, but Kuraly had 0 TOI shorthanded. Hes been completely removed from the unit and replaced with KJ I believe.

Anyone else notice how mad he was after that 3rd goal? He's an absolute headcase but if he can keep the puck out of the net, I guess it's okay? He appears to be very locked in.
Yes, and Foligno turned around and said things to him. I’m assuming literally to thrown him off his game. CBJ are still up a goal at that point, f***ing relax.

The yelling and theatrical shit is ridiculous. Most guys showing “emotion” are almost always in response to themselves making a mistake. The body language and reactions from Elvis are almost ALWAYS directed toward his teammates.

I also don’t think he’s actually been good. This game or this year in general. Goaltending is still an issue.
