It’s what happens to young teamsThis team is completely unpredictable - when I think we should take care of Montreal we play like crap and lose, when I think Boston will stomp us we win convincingly and almost score 6 again
3 pts in 4 games though. Not bad for a defensive dman. Obviously small sample size, but it helps make up for it and he's a better option that Jiricek or Johnson imoFabbro - there is just one example as to why he was on waivers.
If it was the middle of the season, I would agree. But it's just the beginning, there were 3 days off between the San Jose and LA games, and 2 days off between Seattle and the Pens. Besides, professional athletes have professional care, diet, precisely calculated sleep (unless of course someone has a medical problem with it like Nichushkin or Laine, btw, Patrik had depression too etc) massages. There is a sauna, a swimming pool with warm water, etc. at the arena. So no need to make excuses at this part of the season. For those that don't believe professional players can get fatigued, these 2 last games should convince you otherwise.
Playing Montreal in the 2nd of back-to-back games, and 3rd game in 4th day, played like shit .And then 2 days rest, and played a hell of a game.
I'd have no problem with a 4 year/2M AAV deal for Olivier. Something like that could end up being a bargain. The sooner we re-sign Olivier and Voronkov the better, they will only become more expensive
I remember the reaction when Jarmo got Olivier. How many of those who didn't like this trade, especially the price, changed their minds?I'd have no problem with a 4 year/2M AAV deal for Olivier. Something like that could end up being a bargain.
It also shows that not all players stop improving at 22, 23 or 24. Olivier...and Danforth have proven players do continue to grow and mature. Obviously neither is a top line player but both are solid contributors and necessary depth pieces on winning teams.I remember the reaction when Jarmo got Olivier. Even Seth Jones was good when he was here.I think this clearly demonstrates that we need to poach more ex-Preds.
And Scott Hartnell did reasonably well also, even if he didn't come here directly from Nashville.Even Seth Jones was good when he was here.
