Lines written down before a game aren't written in stone... there is the capacity to adjust during a game.

Given Keefe's comments earlier, about the flu, and that there might be changes to the lineup, it honestly wouldn't shock me if there is an emergency call up for this game.

Steeves might get a call up tonight... it would be "interesting" throwing him up on the first line, to see how he plays... but with the flexibility, to change things up too.

McMann is 27 and his career high at any professional level in assists is 11. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he can't make a play.

Gregor has 27 in 204 NHL games or .134
McMann has 3 in 15 NHL games or .200
Reaves has 70 in 848 NHL games or .082

Reaves is closer to Gregor than Gregor is to McMann...

McMann looks to be better than Gregor at playmaking...

All I was saying was McMann > Gregor as a playmaker and a complimentary player

McMann is not a playmaker... he's a goal scorer.

If you want to make the argument, you'd like to see McMann on the first line, because he's a better scorer... and bigger... sure but he's in no way a better playmaker...

Funny enough, I'm kind of hoping to see Steeves there.

15 NHL games is too small a sample to try and pull a "rate" from.

How about AHL stats:

Gregor - 26 Assists in 43GP (0.60A/GP)
McMann - 22 Assists in 118GP (0.19A/GP)

Of course not a big sample from Gregor at the AHL though, because he was mostly in the NHL. Still the sample fir McMann is pretty significant and he can't make plays at the AHL level. Also note Gregor was 21-23 in the AHL, McMann is/was 24-27.

Neither are playmakers... Gregor just has negative hockey IQ... plays die on his stick, he is better as a single offensive threat than as a team.

He is a better playmaker because plays don't die on his stick as often as Gregor...

I'd rather a higher skill forward who doesn't look out of place with good forwards, I'd probably want a Holmberg called up, but it is what it is. I just was responding to Gregor being decent on the first line... he looks lost.

Good 4th liner, looked bad on line 1.

Gregor has a large NHL sample size and he is barely better than Reaves...

This argument goes both ways.

They both suck, but McMann thinks the game better, not sure it is debatable, Gregor has terrible hockey IQ.

Gregor has better tools though, just not sure the tools are needed when you line up next to Matthews/Nylander

Why not Kieffer Bellows?

Gregor is a beauty, excellent addition.

If there is an argument over mcmann versus gregor playmaking ability things must be going well

Btw i heard from someone that gregor can make better seam passes than mcmann to a trailing dman..

He certainly made Lafferty expendable.

Knies is likely back in the lineup, before that could happen, as much as I'd agree with you.
Agreed, but our lack of LW depth was exposed in the playoffs last year, and it still isn’t great.

Any injury to Robertson and we are looking at Marlies potentially, while Comtois brings a different toolset from what we have.

I’m still hoping it’s a move we make, for a minimum contract.
