This is not an advocation of trading Parayko. Shattenkirk is the odd man out and I personally think he'll be dealt at the TDL.

But, theoretically if the Blues made Parayko available what would your team be willing to part with? The Blues' obvious need is a #1 C / elite C prospect.

Parayko for Dylan Strome straight up, would you take it?

Who are you expecting people to offer up? This same song and dance has been done plenty before..

I really don't get the elite C prospect thing either. Name me an elite C prospect you would trade Parayko for not named Matthews?

He's from St.Albert (15 mins from Edmonton) and played in Fort Mac, Alberta for the Barons, went to college in the most Northern US State possible.
Parayko will be an Edmonton Oiler at one point in his career I can feel it. If he was available today, like the other Oilers posters, I would offer RNH/Draisaitl for him.

(He won't be traded for a long, long time if ever. Enjoy him STL he's a stud, quickly becoming one of my favourite players)

Parayko would return a ton. He's still on an ELC and he's far, far better than Larsson. And look at the return there. It would take a legitimate, age/talent comparable 1C.

The problem is that any team with the center it would take to get him is not in a position to move such a player. And on top of that, many of those players are already signed for so much money that even if it's a sweetheart deal, the Blues might not be able to fit the contract and would have to make other moves. Of course it's possible to improve the team by doing something like that; but trading a player of Parayko's current caliber and future potential is already so scary that adding salary-saving moves on top of it is almost certainly a deal-breaker.

So, the return would have to be so great that the Blues would still be significantly better after making additional salary-saving moves. As good as Parayko is and can be, nobody is going to make an offer like that.

Base on the value of D . I would offer something like . Draisaitl + 2018 1st . I offer the 2018 1st because we have to send our 2nd to Boston this year and we still have some holes to fill . One of the holes we would need to fill is a 3rd line C . If Draisaitl was moved I would want that 3rd C to have some size and physicality .

Not tell Blues fans what to do but it sounds like Shattenkirk would like to stay with the Blues if that is the case adding a young C like Draisaitl would pay off in a few years as your C core ages

If this went down, Edmonton would get him. Draisaitl is the only realistic option. Well unless Toronto got 1 OA again

It would hurt, but I would do Drai for Parayko.

Both cost controlled, Drai is a stud #1C in the making, Parayko a #1D in the making. I think it's fair for both sides. 1 for 1.

I saw a few blues fans saying they wouldnt trade Parayko for Matthews.

this is not gonna end well.

Is this just a trolling post or what? There's zero chance Matthews would be available, so there's no reason to even go down that road.

I have ZERO desire to move Parayko, yet I can say the realistic trade is Draisaitl.

Edit. I went though half of that thread and Matthews was only mentioned a few times and I didn't see any Blues fans saying they wouldnt take him. Quote some posts please.

After McJesus, Matthews probably has the most value in the NHL. Literally no one said that, stop acting like a victim.

Drai for Parayko is the most realistic deal. Drai is ****ing unreal, it would sting, but to get Parayko that's the cost of doing business.

I think the odds that St Louis would deal Parayko to Edmonton, Is like slim to none.

We likely have the only 1 for 1 swap palatable for them. Drai for Parayko is probably as reasonably fair for both sides as you can get. While we are in the West, they are in the Central and we are in the Pacific.

Being realistic, neither guy gets moved. We need Drai as part of our 1-2-3 punch down the middle. STL has the next Pronger in Parayko.

Granted that a deal based around Draisaitl for Parayko, Does make the most sense here. Just doubt that either Chiarelli or Armstrong would do it. Chiarelli is pretty high on Draisaitl as is Armstrong on Parayko. And granted that St Louis is in the Central and Edmonton in the Pacific. Both clubs down the road could be squaring off against each other just not sure if they would want to help each other out.

Yup Chiarelli will want that 1-2-3 punch down the middle and Draisaitl definitely helps that cause out. And agreeing that Parayko definitely could be the next Pronger here.
