I used to love the coloured helmets when watching Canada play over in Europe, or during the Canada cups. I always figured the CCCP team used Red all the time because it was cheaper and less equipment to travel with.

The contrast is nice, maybe not all the time though.

It would be novel if the home teams wore the colored jerseys with white helmets at home, and the visiting teams wore their white uniforms with colored helmets on the road.

I like it. Just checked today’s games and the Sens looked good in standard white, but the sharks looked really good with teal helmets and much better than those stupid Jersey jerseys the Devils wore and “Jersey” on the chest of the jersey is not the problem (no helmet color will save those uniforms). They look like fake adidas stuff you could buy from street vendors in the 80s and 90s and maybe you still can.

Leafs played with white jerseys and blue helmets on their Sweden trip and imo it looked much better that way, then i started to pay more attention to it and realized how much better it looks on basically every set of jerseys.

Used to be heavily on the white with white bandwagon but now i’m converted.
