Not really. The Leafs didn't have any problems handling the Avs until the refs took over. It's not like they were struggling from puck drop

True, but they used to be a lot faster when they had guys like Kapanen, Engvall, Mikheyev, etc. Back then the excuse was they didn't play a heavy on the puck possession style. Now that they do that, they're apparently not drawing penalties because they lack speed. I think it's just a Leaf thing and has nothing to do with how they play

I agree we were faster, but I think Gregor, Domi bring a lot of wheels to replace guys like Engvall, Kapanen...Mikhevev was on his own level wheel wise though, for sure.
