I'm not basing everything on one game. I'm taking into account the Leafs track record. We've regressed this season vs past seasons, lost a game to NY where we didn't look good, and just finished up a string of beating up on some meh teams. If the team can't find the will to get up and battle a very good team tonight then yes, I won't think they're very serious about winning anything of importance
Obviously how we end the season matters if new information points to the Leafs being able to play a full 60 more often than not then you know what? That will look like a serious team ready for the playoffs. But for right now if you think playing poorly against the Ilse and then putting up no effort tonight is fine because it's all about the potential finish then more power to you!
I'm not basing my opinion on one game. I've also never heard the phrase from someone in the media nor have I seen poster throwing the term around. I've seen this team choke.... Alot however. Half way through the season and we got smacked by the Sabres, lost to the Blackhawks twice and we have an inability to win games in regulation (even against meddling teams). Team needs to start showing at some point that they are an elite team that will challenge for the Stanley Cup or no I won't think they are very serious.
You know what? Maybe aren't serious isn't the right phrase here. Maybe I should have said incapable of being a serious team.
