In all seriousness, the Avs have been automatic when the other team pulls their goalie. If this keeps up other teams will have to think carefully about when they pull the goalie.
A lot of people don’t like it, I guess bc it skews certain stats? Seems like a dumb argument to me. If it works once in a hundred times, it’s worth it.Also im sure someone can pull; up stats of coaches pulling the goalie with more time remaining and leaving them pulled for 1-2-3 empty netters thinking there is still a slim chance to come back. So obviously EN points should be up all around the league.
The butthurt is strong with this one...Yeah avs are a bit of a joke but whatever its a part of hockey
Another 1st round exit incoming for them

Threads should be starting soon for Blackwood and/or the Avs being a serious Cup threat again. Amazing what above average goaltending does for a team.Yup. 10-3-0 in December and team best goalie save percentage since making goalie moves earlier this month.
Its a failure if you dont get two apples per EN. Ideally for MacKinnon, Rantanen, and Makar to pad their stats. The worst part about it is that they pass the puck to one another, amplifying the multiplier. Dirty pool, guys.
All that winning just to lose in the first round (again), real shameYup. 10-3-0 in December and team best goalie save percentage since making goalie moves earlier this month.

Obviously I know your goal, but at least make the second round joke. All that winning just to lose in the first round (again), real shame
I like how I posted that and then Drai scores an EN like 1 minute later.Mcdavid and Drai absolutely suck with empty nets.
As far as I can tell those EN are earned.
He wasn’t put at the end of the game with empty net though….he was earlier with EN. If you wanted to pad his stats you’d have him out there trying to get morevery few players can outwork and outskate mackinnon. makes complete sense to get him out there every chance with the empty net.
Eh. Back when the Jets were the worst defensive team in the league, and the Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler line was their worst line defensively, that was still a solid line to throw out there against the empty net. I'm not sure I buy that idea.Or think of it as them being good enough defensively to be out there closing out a close game. With MacKinnon's speed one miss pass with the empty net and it's game over.
I saw the same thing. Bro.Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler were eating up EN points for a while for the Jets. Lots of angry people (mostly Laine fans) on that one, but we put away A LOT of games that way.
I saw him make a chickpea smoothie on the bench with about 5 minutes left in the 3rd. Didn't reflect on it when it happened, but now that you mention this...
After a narrow victory in 1994, Boston Bruins defenseman Al Iafrate was asked why, in the closing moments of the game, he had fired the puck around the boards rather than into the empty net. His reply? "Empty-net goals are for Homophobic Slurs."
Most avs fans know that Mack probably doesn’t deserve the hart at this point.Weird, I do not see multiple Avs fans shaming players for EN points like it was last year. What happened?
I think I'm pretty neutral about the subject but it's absolutely wild that someone is already on pace to double a record that was set just last season and which has been available for decades to anyone to break (provided they have the late-game small lead and get the ice time, obviously).
