Yes, that's why it's so weird to me. You never hear the german national anthem or see german flags outside of government buildings.

There was a big to-do in 2006 when german flags became much more common during the WC played in germany.

Yeah I know. I just find it ironic since Germans seemed to invent the idea in the first place.

My brother used to live in Germany and I know it really isn’t much of a thing anymore.

I do find it funny that the military sponsors sporting events and teams in the US but that is capitalism for you. Better than conscription, though, I guess
