Grackle Party
Full of guts!!
The Nelson goals were going to come the guy has been working hard. Hit some posts but the thing for me is that he goes to the net a ton. Either screening or like tonight, got the tip on the drive by
Man, there’s so many things I like about how Charlie Coyle plays hockey.
Watch this Kiviranta goal.
He positions Colton at the edge of the circle. Looks back at him to make sure he’s in the right spot. Wins the faceoff to him. Immediately goes to the net for a rebound, which wasn’t needed as Kivi scored the goal.
He didn’t watch it from a low percentage area. He didn’t p***yfoot allowing himself to be blocked by a defender. Straight to the net.
Text book hockey that coaches adore.
Nelson does the same thing, always going to the net and either screening the goalie, looking for a deflection, or ready to bounce on a rebound.
Love having these two down the middle.
Wait till Landy joins that line with Coyle and ColtonYou can see how much more fun Ross Colton is having playing with Charlie Coyle. It's like he knows the big responsibility is taken care of and he can go out and bash dudes and try to score.
What a TDL by CMac.
That’s only 86mphMoser: "Ryker, they announced Makar's shot as 140 on the screen here."
Ehhhhhhh, duh, it's km/h in Canada
Seriously, this goof.![]()
Clearly the biggest problem is that the 4th liners don't produce enough offense.

Thanks god I only got my access back after this game.
I was so angry for @RoyIsALegend to attend last night's game and how it went with own goal and that referee nightmarebut all is good now with the blowout
Nice to see Brock finally hit the net and not the posts. He looks relaxed, its just the way he plays as it looks slow that is frustrating, but he has the brain to do it.
Like the lines. Druin seems to be playing better with Nate, and Brock propably is helped by having Necas and Lehky on the sides. Also the bottom lines are hammering it in at the moment.
Wedgewood is just so good as backup.
"I'm really happy with it. I've been really happy with the way we've played. I know the game in Toronto we didn't get the results, but it was nice to see the puck go in for us. We had a handful of chances in the first period, but they were good chances and we capitalized on them. I thought that was a little bit of the difference from the Toronto game to tonight. But, [on] both sides of the puck, everyone [was] contributing. It was a tight-checking game on our side, I felt like we were doing a lot of good things offensively, getting to the net, creating rebounds, lots of deflections [and] pretty good looks from the umbrella and in the slot. Have to be pretty happy with the effort, the competitiveness and the execution here tonight."
"We've been doing a good job of getting the wins. The results have been coming for us. But it's because number one, we're committed to what we're doing right now, there's no question. We understand the importance of dialing in our game down the stretch run here getting ready for playoffs. And number two, the players that we added at the deadline are making a huge difference. It's skilled and experienced guys with good size and ability in the middle of the ice. You add Nelson, you add [Charlie] Coyle, we added Jack Drury before that and then [Ryan] Lindgren on the back end helps us. So solidifying that position, the center position, to play low in our zone, to add a few defensemen here to give us some depth in case we're missing guys, it's been huge for us."
I wish Dallas could trade us another Nichuskin. Imagine two Nuke's, 1 on the first line and then another on the second line. This might be the best our defense has looked from a depth perspective. We’re missing our entire second defensive pair and our 7th and 8th defenseman looked like NHL caliber defenders.
On top of that, we have a 3C who can pass as a 2C and a 4C who can pass as a 3C.
Are there any other Dallas outcast the Avs can turn into solid NHL players? Kivi has really established himself as a solid NHLer this season.

Avs faithful Cersei Lannister wanna be.Not me. I choose violence.
f*** YOU RECKLESS
They just blew their load within the first 5 minutes of the game and didn't score. I kept thinking wow, they are playing really well but I doubt they can keep up this pace for the whole game.Toronto relentlessly smothered us giving us almost nothing beyond shots from outside and hounding even that. For some reason, Ottawa started out that way too and then decided to take the pressure off.
I don't get it. You can't play the avs this way. Everyone knows this.
First period was a blast. Kinda boring after that. The Sens fans sitting beside me left after the 5th goal.I hope @The Shermanator had fun at the game, that’s my Stanley cup
A) My dream top four has Manson and Girard in it, but at the very least Manson@MarkT Tonight you get to see what your dream top 4 will look like after trading Girard lol
GTA and surrounding area has a pretty healthy Avs fandom, for how far away the team is location wise. Weirdly, most frequently the favourite team of people I meet, when their favourite team isn't the Leafs.First period was a blast. Kinda boring after that. The Sens fans sitting beside me left after the 5th goal.
I almost felt bad for people. Seeing a bunch of families with young kids with sad looks on their faces with nothing to be excited about all night. That's the nature of sports but it's wild that you can drop a couple hundred dollars to bring your family out to the game only to get destroyed and know it's over in the first period
That said I'm always impressed by the turnout of Avs fans in Ottawa. Feels like the crowd is 20% people in Avs jerseys every time. Shout out to the wasted girl in the Nuke jersey.
