Well, since I'm new here I figured that I might as well start by posting here to let everyone know something about me. I used to be a frequent poster on the official Avalanche message board in case any of you recognize the name.

Favorite Av moment: When the Avs won the cup in 2001 and Sakic gave the cup for Bourque to hoist rather than taking it himself first.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: I was a Nordiques fan as long as I can remember. One of my first hockey memories was at a game between the Nords and the Oilers when I was little and my Dad was an oilers fan so he and I had a little rivalry that game.

Favorite Av moment: First cup! All the good years of the Detroit rivalry. The blossoming Vancouver Rivalry.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: Right away when we heard the news. The funny thing, prior to the Av's I was a Red Wing fan (my grandfather grew up in Detroit, I grew up on Production Line stories) and my Brother in law was a huge Nordiques fan (he was a fan club member way back, had all the Nordiques team photos and newletters and everything) and we used to poke fun at him for being a fan of such a bad team. Turns out he got the last laugh. :biglaugh:

Favorite non-Av: Tony Amonte
Next or other favorite team: Penguins
How else is hockey in your life?: For someone in South Texas, hockey was a huge part of my high school life. After school EVERY DAY, my friends and I would play street hockey until we were dead tired, go upstairs and watch all the games on center ice, then play NHL 99/00,, trade hockey cards, manage our fantasy teams, and then top the night off with some bubble hockey. I also played midget hockey for two years in a city that had enough people to form one midget team. It was great though. We played against other midget teams in texas and had a 3-6 record which we were proud of lol.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: I became a hockey fan after I attended my first Corpus Christi Icerays hockey game (we got a hockey team my sophomore year in HS). I was hooked right away. And I became an Avs fan after playing NHL 98 and picking a team to beat my brother with lol. I grew to hate the stars and wings pretty fast.

Favorite Av moment: Sakic handing the Cup to Bourque for sure

I realized that I dropped in on everyone and never really introduced myself. Sorry about that.

Name: Patrick
Gender: Male
Age: 24
Location: Phoenix, AZ USA
Status: Married
Occupation: Programmer
Favoite Music Artist(s): Too many to name.
Favorite TV show: I don't really watch TV. The only thing I watch on the TV is Hockey.
Favorite Book(s) or Author(s): Don't really have a singular favorite, not to mention most of my reading is not exactly for fun.
Favorite Av: Sakic. Liles. Tanguay.
Favorite Ex-Av: Pre-Ling beatdown Morris. Deadmarsh. Forsberg.
Favorite non-Av: Spezza, Heatley (you can imagine the joy I felt when that trade was made), Conroy.
Next or other favorite team: Senators (this is their year. finally). Rangers (I can finally say that out-loud now without the laughter).
How else is hockey in your life?: Played when I was a kid. Still play now. I used to play 3 times a week, but I had to cut back to 2 times a week. Lately I've been thinking about getting into coaching with the kids, hockey's gotten more popular here in the desert.
Favorite Av moment: The first cup win had good memories for me. I think this one more than the other because I was still in Denver at the time.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: Well I started playing hockey when I was a kid. I have always been a fan. I went to the Canada vs US scrimmage in Denver way back when. I went to the Grizzlie's games (anyone remember them?). Then the Avs arrived in Denver. I went to see their first game (I still have the towel/sheet/cloth somewhere). I have been a fan since day one.

That's a little about me. Hello everyone.

Location: Ottawa, Ontario

Status: Living with my gf for three years, and i am a Master's student in political science at the University of Ottawa

Favoite Music Artist(s): Oasis, Pink Floyd, U2, Green Day, Coldplay, R.E.M, AC DC

Favorite TV show: The simpsons, Family guy, Smallville, Hockey Night in Canada

Favorite Book(s) or Author(s) : The Conte of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Favorite Av: Alex Tanguay and Joe Sakic, and someday Paul Statsny
Favorite Ex-Av : Robyn Regehr, Chris Drury, Adam Deadmarsh
Favorite non-Av : Daniel Alfredsson, Mike Fisher and Patrice Bergeron
Next or other favorite team: The Ottawa Senators, the hometown team, second only to my undying Nordiques loyalty. Boston Red Sox in Baseball and the Patriots in the NFL. Montreal Alouettes in the CFL and Ireland national football club

Favorite Av moment: When Ray Bourque hoisted the cup over his head, after being handed it by Sakic was a priceless and classy gesture.

When did become an Avs fan? The day the team moved to Denver from Québec. Lacroix kept a solid nordiques base with him ( Michel Goulet, Jean Martineau, Jacques Cloutier) and players so i had no reason to switch to some less-deserving team ( aka the Habs or Leafs ugh)

Favorite non-Av: Tkachuk, Khabibulin, Hecht and E. Staal
Next or other favorite team: San José and Montréal are nice teams
How else is hockey in your life?: I play a lot of street hockey in the summer. That's it.
Favorite Av moment: Since I haven't followed the NHL during the Avs cup run I have to say that the signing of Kariya and Selanne was a very special moment for me.
How and when did you become an Av fan?: A lot of credit belongs to EA's NHL series. The NHL is not that popular in Germany, so the game was my first contact with North American hockey. It has to be back in 2002 or 2003, when i finally became an Av fan. Mainly because of Sakic and the cool jerseys
