Yeah the whole situation screams that he’s been dealt or deal was agreed upon in principal and it’s either not Colorado or there’s a snag at the end. He left the arena, his wife isn’t in labor and lots of buzz about it happening. Just reading the tea leaves.

If he was 5 years younger he wouldn’t be. This team is 3-5 years away from competing.

This. Coleman does not fit in with the timeline at all and he should have substantial value that will only decline moving forward. It’s a no brainer to trade him.

Agreed...by the time we are ready, Palmeri and Coleman will be on the decline. It is time to maximize their trade value.

Trading them will also help us secure higher draft picks for this and next year. Painful, but we more than likely need another tank year after this one.

Coleman has become a damn good player, but we are painfully years away from competing. If you can get a good return (it better be...) you do it.

Trades like this could accelerate a rebuild.

Trying to think of a return I'd be happy with, and tbh unless it's a 1st + prospect or one of the bluechips I don't think I can be happy.
Does Blake Coleman really command a 1st, or one of Byram/Newhook/Timmins? He's a good player on a good contract, but is that really what Devils fans expect?

The guy wouldn’t double down like that if it wasn’t a legit trade. He’s gone maybe not to Colorado but he’s gone.

Trade Coleman to Colorado. Get a 1st from Boston to take on Backes in a different 3 way deal.
Yea if they are trading Coleman anywhere they better be hounding Boston to be the team that gets paid to take him.

I don't want Coleman traded, but if you are going to go down that road, hit the gas pedal.

With there being no news and Coleman having left the arena, I am thinking that he HAS been dealt....

.....but not to Colorado which would make the report "Blake Coleman has not been traded to Colorado" TRUE.

Goodbye, Pickles. We'll miss you.

he’s a player that would be great on a playoff team. IMO with his contract the return should be similar to hall. A first and a good prospect.
