glad you brought up the strong starts.... it's like the anti-Wheeler, who'd kind of start slow and then start ripping it up.Yeah I feel that Perfetti is getting treated by Arniel this year the way that posters wanted him to be treated by Bowness - giving him tons of rope to play his way out of it. I'm seeing the opposite from him right now, I feel like he's getting further and further from a legit 2nd line winger with every game.
I think he might be struggling to adapt to the physical and mental demands of this league. That would explain his strong season starts and his fade when shit gets real. He seems worn down especially mentally to me. Maybe he's overthinking things and needs a few games to watch from the PB.
This in my mind is a perfect opportunity to bring up our budding skilled forwards for a stretch. We're in a great spot in the standings, and it's nice to give those guys some more reps and that NHL paycheck.
Of course the problem is the backlog of defensemen on the roster makes that very difficult.
Last 2 seasons: Perfetti starts hot the first month or 2, and then December hits and there's a big decline.
