Not sure if this has been posted, but an interesting feature on Perfetti and what to expect from his dev time in the AHL:
AHL Stint Could Accelerate Perfetti’s Development
Since the 2009-2010 season, there’s been just 15 players 19-years-old or younger to play (more than 30 games) at the AHL level (Elite Prospects - AHL Stats 2009-2010). What Perfetti is doing at this age is a rarity, however, nearly 90% of all NHL players pay their dues in the AHL at some point in time.
“Guys that are elite talents and elite players at the next level came through the AHL and learned professional hockey here and then moved on and took their talents to the big leagues. I think it’s a crucial stepping stone for a lot of players,” said Perfetti, whose OHL rights are owned by the Saginaw Spirit.
Perfetti, who was ranked as high as fourth heading into last fall's draft, is an elite talent himself. He’s the type of talent who had Jets management ecstatic when he slipped to them in the draft. The type of talent that prompts the casual Jets fan to keep their eyes peeled on the Moose’s box scores. The type of talent that inclined Pascal Vincent, who usually refrains from seeing lofty expectations for young prospects, to make a bold proclamation after the first practice of Moose training camp on January 25th.

Perfetti, renowned for his elite hockey IQ, puck skills and scoring instincts, oozes a great deal of potential. The 5’10 dynamic forward tore up the OHL last season, finishing second in league scoring (111 points) and leading all skaters with 62 primary points at even-strength (EV P1).
“You can tell he’s very smart, he’s got good skills with not only his hands, but his feet. He’s quite agile around the puck and his ability to separate himself from the defender is pretty impressive,” Vincent elaborated.
