Hey, winning and staying ahead of NYR would be nice, please and thanks.
This one will be closer than the Wings game because that is how this team rolls.
It was obvious Ned was on that night.Honestly, I don't know why everyone is saying we played poorly in the Wings game. I was working the game, and it was honestly probably the best the team has played in weeks. Ned stoned multiple sure goals in just about every period.
Obviously, after the 3rd goal, they gave up and played like shit after that, but they were dominating up to that point, even after the first 2 goals.
That being said, I think it was obvious after the first and/or early in the second that Ned was going to shut us out.
YOU SERIOUSLY GONNA MANGLE THE GDT AND THEN DISAPPEAR AND NOT EVEN WATCH???Glad I have a show to go to tonight.
Either they win and i’ll watch it later or they lose and I can pretend like it didn't happen.
It was obvious Ned was on that night.
That said, if anyone knows that Ned is on until he’s suddenly not, it’s Carolina.
Or, the Canes saw an opportunity to update their #1 goaltender and Ned couldn't accept that he was going to be the #2. Despite his motivated performance in the last game, hard to argue with the results: Ned is a .903 goalie and Freddie is a .926 goalie and four inches taller.I'll never understand that mindset. EVERY goaltender has on/off games, and all that matters is that your goaltender has MUCH more "on" games than "off."
But Ned was apparently held to such a high standard that a single bad game against the Lightning was enough to turn a large portion of the fanbase against him and have the organization decide they can't win with him.
Honestly I think it was the measurable more than anything else. Ned is short, Petr isn't exactly tall. Freddy is. They wanted a bigger goalie and Ned wanted more than they were going to pay. As we saw last game, Ned's defense in Detroit isn't exactly giving him much (or literally no) help. So it's unsurprising the difference in SV%.
Because let's face it: It's not like Andersen has been the definition of consistency this year. For being as tall as he is, it's not helping him save pucks.
We were running away with the Metro. Now we're not.Best GAA
3rd in Save%
3rd in wins.
GAA and Wins are team stats but isn't save percentage pretty much all on the net minder?
Either way he is in the convo for the Vezina, Ned is not.
