De Haan certainly is. Probably the worst player in the league this year IMO.

Parssinen maybe not. I also think he carries decent value so I wouldn't be surprised if the picks involved here aren't as strong as maybe expected but we'll see.
With respect, Lindgren is in that fight for "worst player in the league" too. Awful deal for Colorado IMHO.

Not sure why any team would want Lindgren. But then again, the Avs saw that Necas would be a fit and that’s worked out. Maybe they see there’s a system fit for Lindgren to get him back to being the decent player he was a couple years ago.

I think Lindgren has been horrible for the last 2 years for the Rangers, but I also think playing in an insulated 3rd pair role behind Toews and Girard for the Avs should dramatically help with his results. For what he is, a 2nd is pretty much the expected price for that.

The Avs won a cup with Jack Johnson on their 3rd pair and IMO Johnson was even worse than Lindgren.

Why would you expect a 2nd to be the price for “guys who’s been awful for two years and is on a bad contract but might be an okay sheltered third pair defenseman.” The price for that should be future considerations.

Yah they had Johnson, but they didn’t trade a 2nd for him, they signed him to a league minimum deal in free agency.

Because guys who eat minutes and bring physicality are valuable pieces, even if their on-ice results suck. Hence why you see guys like Chiarot moved for 1st rounders.

So can anyone explain why from either side? Everyone is saying all these players are shit.

So is it a bunch of crap moving and then Rangers get free draft picks?

Wait, Lindgren is 26 yo? Looks 35 out there.
Almost everytime I watch the Rangers and go "Ouch! That's gotta hurt!" It's Lindgren getting hit or blocking a shot. To be fair, the guy gets up every time, plays his shift then misses a couple of games.

But I guess he will be better in a third pairing in Colorado than first pairing in New York.

DeHaan was just a fill in contract
Parsinnen should be 3rd line C. Still young
2nd and 4th are needed to replenish
