He's an odd player. Had a pretty good season last year, did what they needed him to do. Bombed out towards the final weeks and continued that horrible play in the playoffs.

Ya, I remember seeing him play decently for the Rags last year and it surprised me, because he looked the definition of an AHL all-star in Buffalo. Just not quite quick enough, shot not quite good enough, avg iq, not physical, I was just very confused what he could possibly bring.

Still am, but as a 13th forward I’d suppose he’d work. How’s his defensive game?

Not really an issue there. He's more of a hard working player and not a coaster. He's been pretty consistent when it comes to providing the same results, especially on defense.

We're not dumb enough to play him on our top pair lol
For Colorado’s sake I hope they don’t. I’m just pointing out Lindgren was that bad next to a top 10 dman in the league. I can’t imagine how bad he will be next to a typical bottom pair dman.

I will point out he is a hard guy to hate. He really does sacrifice his body which is the only thing that is keeping him in the league at this point.

If he was playing with a top 10 defenseman in the league like Fox, I'm assuming it was a lot of hard minutes against the other teams' top lines or shutdown lines. Maybe a few shifts here and there with an advantageous matchup, but only until the other team can change.

On the Avs 2nd or 3rd pairing, he's not going to be on the ice very often against the other teams' shutdown line, and should only see a few ES shifts here and there against the other teams' top lines. Maybe he'll look better against the lesser competition.

Good point. He was put in positions that were out of his realm of capability

Vesey is a solid defensive winger who does a little bit of everything and won't hurt you whereever you put him in the lineup. What always has hurt him the most is his lack of finishing. He is the classic jack-of-all trades but master of none. (One of the big probelms with the rangers was they seemed to have a few of these guys in the lineup when a championchip team should only have like 1.) Is he physical enough for the 4th line? Fast enough/Skilled enough for the top6? The big reason why he was so good last year for the Rangers was his willingness to really start being physical.

Well moreover the Avs don’t need to find a top tier complimentary pairing with Makar as they found that with Toews.

I think the home run that Avs could get is for Lindgren to slot in 2nd pairing with Girard, but the most likely scenario is 3rd pairing with Malinski with a healthy Manson on the 2nd pair.

As an Avs fan, I’m mostly looking forward to seeing if lindgren can take top pk duties to spare Makar a bit of the load in that regard. If he can be successful in that role and play steady in a lesser role against lesser competition then I’m ok with the trade. Would have liked a surefire impact guy ala Jones but it wasn’t meant to be I suppose.
