Yup, check the stat sheet. These skaters combined for 201GP 14G 22A 36pts.

Forwards: Kelly, Ivan, (Kovalenko), Ritchie, Smith, Stienburg, Bradley, Felhaber, Innala, Prishchepov
Defense: De Haan, Ludvig, Killington
Goalies: Blackwood, Wedgewood, Kakkonnen, Miner
Toss Mandolose on that list too. He didn't skate, but he did dress.

The data on Parssinen looks bad. Amongst Preds, second to last in CF% (45.8%), dead last in xGF% (38.0%) by a mile. He's been healthy scratched constantly but got some time centering Marchessault and Stamkos this year.

The bottom line is I'm trusting the scouts on this one. Predators fans seem to like him and Colorado gave up a little bit to get him, so they must see something.
A 3rd round pick in 2026 and a career AHL bottom sixer isn't a lot.

.... But a 3rd is a decent price to pay for a relatively unproven guy.

True, but already seems most likely better than anything the Avs are likely to draft in the 3rd round, plus able to play NHL games now, rather than in 5 years.

Seems well worth the cost of 2027 3rd pick. And it's questionable Pavel has even shown 7th round value.

But we'll see if he quickly makes his way to Bednar's doghouse.

Ya. Im not gonna cry about a potential prospect from that pick that could potentially help the Avs in 2031...
It's not really about who the Avs could have drafted with the pick, but the opportunity cost. That's one less asset to spend on other deadline targets.

But seeing as Parssinen can contribute right away and also has long term upside it's a worthy gamble.

Missing a 3LD now.
Dumoulin, Lindgren, Vaakanainen, Pettersson, Martinez, Määttä, Provorov are UFA's of varying quality (I'll just go ahead and ignore old friend Ian Cole here:laugh:) Or maybe go back to San Jose to get Rutta (righty who plays both sides).

We're gathering Finnish players only so Vaakanainen and Määttä are the options.

Both would be fine in 3rd pairing role, Vaakanainen a bit meh though. I would be very fine with Määttä, but there are better players to target. (like Pettersson and Oleksiak).

Oh I think it's quite a bit early to be thinking he's vying for the 3C role.

Bednar loves the Kiviranta - Kelly - O'Connor line.

IMO Parssinen starts and likely stays on the 4th line for quite some time.

Kivi - Kelly - LOC would be a good 4th line.. if Pärssinen isn't 3C we should still be looking for one IMO. You don't win a cup with Kelly as your 3C.

I like this. more Finns in the team is always good and dude seems like a solid bottom sixer that could play in the third line, at C or W if need be. meanwhile Pavel is not even a good AHLer. given people talk about his problems with confidence, I just hope Bednar does a better job with him than what he did with Annunen.

They hate this trade in Nashville!

Makes me optimistic.
Means absolutely nothing. Everytime i see people on HF saying how they love/hate a trade of some super random super obscure guy, who most likely never be more than dime-a-dozen fourth-liner, i chuckle. Cause ofc, this is HF, and everyone here is f***ing expert scout and talent-evaluator. Thats why Nashville traded him for a guy that so far shown even less, cause they think he is surefire 2C. But resident experts know better.

This is not to say i would not love, if he turned out great. Just would not hold my breath.
