Injuries and stuff is a nice excuse for one year. When you start using it for an entire 8 year career, something's very wrong.

I am a Preds fan and he was not a "playoff warrior" for any of those other years, including this year. Nor was he a playoff warrior in the Blackhawks series where he had 5 goals in 6 games. He was a power play warrior, I guess, but not any good at even strength.

Well most of the Preds fans i've seen seem to think otherwise about the playoffs, but i concur. Injuries aren't excuse in a sense, im not saying Wilson would be a 50 point guy otherwise or anything like that. But i mean it's just a fact that when you're banged up every year and miss time it has an affect.

In any case, he's been fairly productive player for the Preds. Career ~0.5PPG is nothing to sneeze at. He's a useful player in any teams top 9 IMO.

I think if you ask any Preds fan they will say he's been a playoff warrior for them.

I wouldn't say that. The fact of the matter is that despite strong possession numbers and getting a good amount of ice time, his career high in points is 42. At some point those strong possession numbers need to turn into actual production and they never did.

Now maybe all he does need is a change of scenery to break out. I wouldn't count on that though.

Gotta think that how well he helps shepherd the smaller Compher & Jost into the NHL will be more important to colorado than how well he produces. Wilson's hard working game and size/strength should help ease them in on the third line.

Again, I think you're mistaken here. Size and strength, yes. Does he use them? Not really. Only to protect the puck, and really nowhere else. And I wouldn't say he plays a hardworking game either, he's not particularly lazy or anything, but he plays a skill game and doesn't use his size. Not good defensively, not a grinder or banger at all. He'll go to the front of the net, but only on the power play. Really good passer and good at guarding the puck with his frame. Pedestrian or worse at most everything else.

Not a bad player, a decent third line guy, but not much else.

Drafted 7th overall by Nashville in '08.....carved out a decent career but you'd have expected more from a pick that high.

You have to keep in mind, our second highest scoring guy last year had only 41.

I expect his numbers to fall a bit with a Colorado, because we're a tire fire and that's what happens when you go from a cup finalist to a tire fire. But if he can be even a 30-40 point player for us, it'll provide some MUCH-needed depth scoring that we are so desperate for. Last season we had 5 guys with over 30 points.
