Yeah the skating and the PIMS are a concern for Bednar, and I'd like someone with more offense in him.

Would be a good 3C, but not sure he's an upgrade offensively on Mitts. Offense is the area of need.
I don't think he's a true upgrade at anything on Mitts except for physicality. And Bednar usually coaches that out of guys. I just don't think moving Mitts and replacing him with Schenn makes any sense imo.

Mmmm, yeah we need offense, but as our winger depth improves I think that's fine.

I'd like a more two way heavier presence that still provides production.

Which is why I'm on team Zacha obviously. I mean.. Whoever it is will have two of Lehhky, Necas, Nuke, and Drouin. Our top wingers legit produce no matter where they go.

142 hits is something we could use, depending on the cost

I'd like that personally, I agree.

My issue though is I think either his hits/game would go way down playing for Bednar, who wants him keeping his feet moving to hound pucks and block passing lanes on the backcheck, or he wouldn't play how Bednar wants, and he would demote him to the third line.

if I am the avs I get a string 3c and two cheap mush demon.3if you get a decent 3c you can limit mitts usage and we don’t have to sell cheap on him and maybe build value going in the offseason

If Mikko is traded again you just know it'll be some team like Dallas, Vegas, or Edmonton and the Avs will see them in the playoffs.
And we lose to his team and everyone says how the trade was terrible and MacFarland should have seen it coming.

They've pretty much already done that. If they limit Mitts' usage any further he'll be on a milk carton.

Absolutely loved Landy's response in the first video, but Mikko completely turned into that hit and unfortunately often times turns with one leg hanging way out, in this case his left leg as he turns completely to the right and into Schenn.

I don't think there was anything dirty about the play. Just an unfortunate situation that sometimes happens in a game played at this speed.

There was a video game with Schenn in it. I think it was Mortal Combat and it was on sale on Steam. Schenn character also liked to wait unit his opponent has turned his leg to one side, inside out or whatever and then started to take advantage with that.

Mikko was kind of turning away from the hit though. Check out the slow mo at 1:10. Schenn came in at a bad angle, and realized he was off the mark, and adjusted course to his left, and lunged at Mikko with his leg vulnerable.

Don't think it was intentionally dirty, but it was very reckless, and easily could have blown out his knee.

I love physical hockey, but after all the years watching it, nothing ever good comes from those predatory east/west hits. Especially the ones from a blind angle like that. They're usually someone looking to hurt a guy with a massive hit, and just bad news waiting to happen.

Hard to line up those hits properly and the guy being hit is usually very vulnerable to head shots or knee on knee. IMO the onus is on the hitter in that situation to have some respect for his opponent/fellow human being and not try to kill him when he's vulnerable. Love Naz, but he was guilty of the same kind of thing on Faulk.

If Mikko keeps playing the way he is, I think we dodged a big bullet. He needs to work on his game and get back to a better level. He got used to good life with MacK and Makar and that made him too comfortable.

I just don't see 12mil player there.

He can finish plays(pass or score) but that's all what he offers currently. It's showing its negative side.

It's all been 4d chess by Cmac. He knew Rants wasn't worth it...and he's banking on Rants realizing how great CO was for him and he'll come back in offeason for major discount cause no other team will pay him Drai money.

Mikko has 2 points in the 6 games he has played for Carolina.
The last time he went 6 games with only 2 points was in March 2022, and the time before that was in January 2020.
While it is a very small sample size and I think it's too early to judge, it is rare to see him in the dumps like this.

Don't get me wrong, he will still put up points but now seeing Mikko with other team you see his flaws even more. He will score and put up points, but his overall game is weak, which might even hurt your team.

He will always be good on power play for example because he can pass and finish plays, but 5vs5 etc. it's not good.

Unless he loves Carolina, I don’t see why Mikko would re-sign with them without at least testing free agency. Money appears to be Mikko’s priority and Carolina has a reputation for not being huge spenders.

With that being the case, he’s almost certainly going to get higher offers in FA and there’s no reason for him to rush to sign.

Probably been said before but Carolina's system and roster do the Moose no favors.

Even on the PP his one timer hasn’t been as good in the past couple years.

Well, he missed the last game or two due to ye olde LBI, so I wonder if something's been bothering him for a while. His mobility on the power play was nonexistent so it's possible.
