Dude's like a more talented, bigger (?), and faster version of Burakovsky. He's a one-man transition game.
As for Rants, I don't think it's MacKinnon he misses. It's Makar, Toews, and the offensive scheme that did everything to push puck movement up the ice from the back end forward. I really did wonder if the Canes, who, last I checked, much prefer to dump and chase, would be a good fit for 96.
Also, the Avs have been a good-to-great offensive team without ever really producing offense from the hashmarks on down, they much prefer high-and-low open cycling. In fact when teams force them to try and grind it out in the corners, they struggle. The Canes are, again, last I checked, all about this. So...yeah. I said before I wondered if it would be a good fit and so far, I don't think it has been. Though to be fair I haven't seen a single Canes game since he joined them.
