5-5-1 since a 5-0 record at the turn of the year. 25GF, 29GA. 3-3-1 at home. 4-5 in regulation. Didn't end January all that well at 1-3. Not a great effort against Minnesota, or Arizona. Barely ended up with 1 point, let alone 2, in SJ. A lost 3rd period lead at home against Colorado. Minnesota on a back to back. The Kings had 2 days while the Avs played last night.
What's done is done. Two big division games after the break in Arizona, and at home against the Ducks. Then a 7 game road trip. Those next 9 games are the big ones, not the previous 11.
A familiar Kings story against the Avs this year. Outshot them 109-75, but outscored by them 9-6. Gave up 4 goals twice, and scored more than 2 goals only once. A lot like the story against the Coyotes this year, or the Flames last year. The Avs were 5/17 on the PP, while the Kings were 1/14.

If you had said the Kings were 7 points up for the division lead at the all-star break before the season, we take it. 5th best record, tied for 4th overall in points%. Big picture, few complaints. It's always the devil in some of the details that gets you.
