If there is a deal coming...how long before it would happen? At what point do we stop obsessing and just call it a tremendous blunder by Regier?

Watch them do something stupid like bring over Armia. After scoring only 1 against WPG, they are desperate for goals.

We'll know more after practice when one of the media guys ask where Ennis and Ehrhoff are.

Anything other than a "maintenance day" means something is up.

I'm not sure. I don't think anything can actually happen until tomorrow when he is assigned to Roch or claimed.

Right?

Are we perhaps ignoring the possibility #8 asked to be traded / released in order to hook on to an organization where he'd get more than 6-8 minutes ice time per game?

Or, as noted above, they wish to assign him to Rochester, pending Leino's imminent return, etc.

Personally, I've always liked his effort, energy, consistency, and occasional PK play. He has to be one of the (non-problem) players who firmly grasps that without hard work and consistent effort, daily, he doesn't dress in the NHL. So, again, as others noted, in Jedi mind-trick lingo, "he's not the underperforming Sabre you are looking for".

From a contract standpoint, his $/value is too high, but on the BUF roster, that's not an impediment unless other, much bigger moves, are looming.

Curiously, if BUF is looking to either move or assign him, then the probability of Scott dressing any given game may increase. I don't get that, as McCormick's wheels are much better than Scott's, even if his fists aren't.

Christ, this vet status in the AHL is mind boggling. Goalies are exempt from vet status, therefore for Enroth and McCormick to go down, Leggio up a vet in ROC needs to sit.

Isn't Rissmiller on a try out contract? They could always just release him from the try-out and boom, problem solved.

And that would definitely be a Regier thing to do.

They could just scratch one of them every game, as the rule only applies to how many you can dress.
There's no limit on the amount of veterans you can carry on your roster, though.

You'll usually see useless teams like Hershey do it.
