Connor brown will be in the top 6 imo
If you want to like Connor Brown, do not have the idea that he will be a top 6 player. If you expect offense from him, he will be the most disappointing player on your team.

He is a hard working player, who is an ok PKer and plays a bit physically. Offense DIES on his stick. We watched him play with Tavares and Marner last year when Hyman was out and it was an absolute disaster. Just take the little offense that he provides as a bonus and you will like him.

EDIT: Just saw you're signing Tyler Ennis. He will be a player you really like. Should crack the top 6. Has tons of offensive skill. Very underrated player for the Leafs last year.

So confirmed the 3rd rounder was in exchange for $3million.

Yeah, seems like an Ottawa Senators trade. Basically exactly the same thing we did with Brassard, but at least we're slowly learning and giving out 3rd round picks now instead of 2nd rounders. :sarcasm:
I wouldn’t say confirmed, Pam can sometimes inject opinion, but it seems pretty close

Either way, even if Zaitsev thrives for us and Brown returns a good asset, we did not leverage this situation nearly as well as we could or should have

I’m glad that the pick was explicitly described as compensation for the bonus payment.

Now we won’t have to listen to anyone actually try and rationalize this garbage (“Brassard was the better player at the time guys stop being so negative jeez”).

Dark times.

Somehow I'm surprised everytime. But the reality is nothing will change until we have a new owner. We will always be doing trades like this that drive us all nuts.

I get worked up everytime, but I just dont know why. It's to be expected.

The LEAFS were desperate, extremely desperate to get rid of Zaitsev's 5 year deal as they must have room for Marner. They gave a 1 st round pick to Car for Marleau and still the sens just swoops in and saves the leafs bacon. They had all the leverage and could have demanded the house and did nothing.

Well Bonk,

They’re probably hanging out at the same bar as all of the “If they trade EK/Stone I’m absolutely DONE with this team!” Promises... They’re so drunk by now they have no clue how to get home.

Tensions are high and the Sasquatch is just on the other side of the majority in here on this issue. Other than point of view it’s really no different. Can we really fault people for getting fed up with the negativity here every once in a while, but give all of the endless cynicism and bitterness a full blown NMC?

When people lose their isht and lash out, it’s guys like you that used to be good at helping out, maintaining balance.

I figure if we have to make room and pretend that everyone else’s promises and prognostications didn’t pan out, what’s adding one more to the list.

We are all self proclaimed Sens fans after all...

I've rarely if ever taken issue with what side someone falls in an argument. I'll debate my side of it, sure, but I almost always respect the other side of the debate (unless it's utterly ridiculous, which is pretty rare but occasionally happens).

Pretty much the only issue I'll ever call out is when someone's argument is overly biased, or doesn't make sense, or is mean spirited, or is intentionally antagonistic. I think I'm overly fair to every side of a debate, almost to a fault. Heck, I haven't been a mod here for like 4-5 years. I'm not the police. All I can do is be reasonable to the people who act reasonably.

If you're going to fly off the handle and lash out at other posters, I don't see how you can't expect to be treated in kind. Respect is earned. If you decide to waive your Respect NTC (which is a weird naming convention, but I'll follow suit, haha), no one else here has to honour it. The second you (not you specifically, but posters in general) start rolling up in here calling people "neckbeards", I can't see how you expect to have a defensible position afterwards.

Its not your fault

Zaitsev wanted out we could have still matched Marner with the 10 percent over the cap allowance. We just wouldn't be adding guys like Shore or Spezza today so for that thank you guys.

Coincidentally, Dorion and co sat in a room and discussed who of all the dmen in the league should they target to help our young players grow and learn from.

And they determined it was zaitsev. High....Fives!!!
