Coaching is a serious problem.

Start playing like the end of last year? You mean when they lost 23 of their final 32 games?
That is the absolute truth of it.
There are no segments in any of these past three seasons that show us winning multiple games in a row.
Putting two together is a challenge all on it's own.

We weren't losing how we are losing right now, there's a difference. I don't think we're as bad as everyone thinks right now. If anything it's good for this team to face the adversity now, learn from it and grow as the season progresses.
Yeah, it’s so ugly. And the analytics are worse than we could’ve imagined.

Nothing is going right and injuries have been brutal.

In this thread? The world ends no matter what happens.
I have to believe that the injuries are a huge issue, having the greenest D Corp ever iced on an NHL team is a huge issue. They are basically looking like an expansion team which in reality should surprise no one. A healthy Habs team is in the mix...

Interesting to see what this thread will look like in 3 months.

Are we going to see growth, and start playing like how we ended last year?

or

the world ends.
Why is Marty going to improve in some of the areas he's been criticized for?
Can someone point out even one thing that looks any different from what we've experienced these past couple of seasons?
I don't even expect our special teams numbers will stand the test of time it's the same ole same ole.
The devil is in the details.

It’s ugly now but it was ugly last year too. They showed some fight but really it was one line that was hot then randomly Armia started playing well with Newhook.

But I agree there’s some regression, we are chasing the play. That’s not simply a personnel issue but a coaching one. We’ve seen teams with Patrice Brisebois as the 1D be better than this.

If you are going to play the old zone-pile-a-thon and off-the-glass MThead and Greene defense, might as well hire Greene and bring back Jesus Price.

Even on one leg, Jesus is better then Monty getting mauled.

in my home
Get MSL a balanced line up
Not all skill but even it out with guys that play hard in the puck
3 lines of not aggressive type player's

What's MThead doing these days?

Can we sneak him in as a water boy and jock strap adjuster then slowly, very slowly, maybe two days put him in as head coach?

Asking for a coke head friend ...

i've been saying it since game 1, I don't mind losing like we did last year but I expect progression, losing by giving up on plays like Mailloux did, or losing by making that extra push while forechecking, or losing by taking 4 lazy penalties in a row, it breaks my heart

never, not even Molson is this stupid.. right?
I personally think a guy like Therrien is probably what is needed to light some fire under the ass of some of the current Habs players. I get the feeling that MSL is just seen as "too nice".

But he looks at coaching like he does playing. He was super talented and driven with a great track record of success at all levels. The only thing holding him back was lack of opportunity because of his height.

The things holding him back as a coach are zero experience, zero training, zero desire to be tough, zero understanding of the defensive game.

Yeah,

What this team needs is more incoherent ravings from the worst coach this team has ever had.

I wasn't thinking that as a coach. Those players need a verbal kick in the ass from someone somewhere. Doesn't seems to be the current coaches forte.

Could even be from another one of the players. But the leadership is all about friendship and not much else it seems.
