It's 2 parts for me.

1. Overexposure and constantly being shoved down our throat. Not her fault

2. I don’t think it's her intention to be a role model for anyone. But with that said, her music has become a celebration of difficult relationships and overall dysfunction for the better part of a decade. She has openly acknowledged she is a head case in her own right and is often the problem.

But I have seen little encouragement from her to have her followers distance themselves from the same behavior she engages in. There is a lot of "monkey see, monkey do" and I think millions of young women and girls are worse off for it.

After a while you set a low expectation of men even if it was not your intention

Recent studies have shown that less than 30% of women in their 20's are single, while 70% of men are single. Her music is a symptom of a bigger problem.

Her music is about failed relationships, the constant panning to her as a non player is excessive and i think she's overrated. I find it hilarious you default to a comment like that. Your ideology is fading and it's a great thing. Attempting to label someone as "x" when they have reasons that don't qualify them as "x" is a big factor as to why society has been stagnant for a decade. For instance I have a Lillian who wants to be called Saturn, an Isabella who wants to be called Vinny, a Sarah who wants to be called Ember, and a Samantha who wants to be called Ky. I also had some genius parents who named their daughter Harley when their last name was Davidson.

At EA, I worked with an Audio Artist and his name was Justin Dick. His family was also Mennonites, so the Dyck's jokes from LetterKenny hit to a new level.

Nah jokes aside I don't have anything against new names. Some of them are very nice. My favorite was my college classmate Tonaja. Said like tuh-nausea. It's gorgeous. But men's names need to remain masculine and women's names need to stop sounding like they came from a bad Key and Peele skit. There's a leap between creative, beautiful sounding names with a hint of elegance like Shondra Hughes and trainwrecks like Amandalynne Brexleigh Smith that 80 years is never going to bridge. And in 80 years, 9 year old Peightyn is gonna get his ass whipped every time he's alone.

moms and dad's need to remember they're gonna die and their 47 son and daughter are stuck with that terrible name
