Uhmm, I kind just said that in the post you quoted.
I was curious if you were going to read the words or simply jump to your ‘clever’ reply. Looks like I have my answer.
I think PD knows he’s on his way out, especially since the bids started to leak their ‘hockey guys’ in the media. This seems to correspond with him saying less about actual future Sens business, and talk more about recommendations instead of plans.
Saying he’ll make his recommendation on DJ to the new owner pretty much spells out what he thinks is going to happen in terms of his own job security. And it does DJ a disservice if the outgoing guy makes too much of the relationship in public as he departs.
As usual defending management or the team in general from childish and usually nonsensical internet behaviour is something I don’t mind doing as a fan, it’s a full time job in here, and thankfully I share it with others.
You guys will simply change whipping boys, as always, and I’ll continue doing my thing.
All the experts in here won’t lose their qualifications just because we have a new owner lol!!
I don’t always bother engaging with the content of your posts because I know you’ll just be rehashing whatever spin puts sens management in the most positive light.
I can engage with the content if you want.
You’re right that it’s not surprising that Dorion wasn’t committing to a single course of action at season’s end when it comes to DJ. Impending change in ownership is certainly a factor. It was also clearly a factor in November. His endorsement in November came just a few days after the sale process was officially launched.
The fact of the matter is that in November he chose, with an impending sale, to back up DJ 100% . A few months later, he took a very different position and made comments about their disagreements. That’s not PD’s MO, for all his faults he tends to back up his coaches and make a unified front (at least until he’s done with them).
It was very noticeable for most people, including fans and media who follow the team. That’s why I raised it as a pretty clear example that DJ isn’t getting complimented by people in the industry from every angle.
The fact that serious sports reporters (as opposed to fans on message boards/podcasters/twitter folks) caught on the same story gives the lie to your immature effort to frame fair questions as childish or nonsensical.
Spinning fake news arguments and burying your head in the sand won’t change what’s going on in reality.
We’re getting close to the end of the line of the Dorion/Smith eras and I’m looking forward to fresh eyes and ideas taking this team to a new level.
