This is basically a pile of assets the Jackets have little use for for two players the Jackets have a lot of use for. Farrance in particular represents pretty much the exact polar opposite of the sort of blueliners the Jackets need, and Kunin and Tolvanen are similarly of little interest because of a large number of mid-to-decent wingers on the roster.

Problem for Nashville - That's $16m in cap with almost nothing going out. You can't give Forsberg his raise, kind of defeats the purpose.

Problem for CBJ - That's a bunch of pointless quantity that the Jackets don't need. They have enough medium upside young players. A lot of young guys that could score 20 and a lot of young offensive D that will be decent someday. They'd do better with more lottery tickets (draft picks).

Pass. We're doing fine in Nashville and Kunin and Tolvanen are playing well, don't need to change anything and take on any more big salaries. Those spots on the payroll are already filled. We need the cheap/effective youngsters more.

This is a bad trade. There is this thing called a salary cap.

So you have one line that has any sort of bite? Yeah not gonna cut it.
Are you saying Forsberg, Johansen and Cousins are soft or have no bite? Remember on the back end we have Ekholm, Boro and Myers too.

I don't like the deal but the only physical forward we'd be giving up would be Kunin, and right now, I'd say we're one of the more physical teams in the NHL.
