The team played a good game.

I didn't care for goals 2, 3 and 4 on Helle. He should have had 2 and 3 and the rebound he gave up on 4 was pretty bad.

Morrissey was fantastic. His game is great at both ends. He's really added dimensions to it this year and I love the confidence. We get a more modern offensive scheme next year and JoMo will score a bunch of points playing as he is.

Samberg is a good player. Great skating, quick reads and good hands and a breakout. He is what a modern defensive dmen is. He will be on the team full time next year and it wouldn't surprise me if he forces his way into the top 4.

Dubois is just snake bite right now. He's had a number of chances lately and just is 🥶

Ehlers was flying

If we got this Mark most nights there would be no one talking about him in a negative manner. He was back looking like he did 16-18. He was engaged, fighting hard for pucks, working to half the play up. Playing reasonably well in his end. He was also much better in terms of demeanor on the ice and was laughing and having fun out there for a change. I have no idea what the change was but this version of Mark is welcome on the team.

I didn't at all like the new PP setups and the lack of familiarity showed.

I can't help but compare our record to Dallas... 7 more OT losses than them, 7 points behind in the standings (though with 2 extra games). What happened to our pond hockey capabilities from days of yore? We used to do a lot better.

Then again, 7 more OT wins wouldn't make us a championship team barring a well-timed HelleVezina streak or something.

I usually watch the other team's feed and they mentioned that Toninato is Brett Hull's Godson.

They were praising up Scheif and KC all game...especially Scheif. Quite a few good comment's thrown Helle's way as well.

I coulnd't watch all of it. I had to turn back to Beyak and Sawyer. These guys would not shut up while play was going on. Worse than Sawyer, I kid you not.

Nice to see some Ehlers-Scheif chemistry again

Not a bad game agaisnt a team that will probably play for the cup this year.

How much did we miss Wheeler?
Why wasn't Gus called up for the game with Wheeler out?
Gus isn't better than Brooks?

Lowry should be more than happy with Samberg. Poise with the puck. Good first passes. Skates really well. No need for him to wear a Moose uni if he keeps playing like that.
Pionk was shit tonight.
I'd like to see Apples on PLD's line.
Does anyone have more breakaways than young Lowry?
5 minutes of Gus on the 4th line wouldn’t make a difference on anything!

Love him or hate him, gotta hand it to Scheifele. He was on fire tonight. Too bad we didn’t see this all year though.
Well, that's really the main point, isn't it? We didn't see this all year, or even most of this year. And that's why the team is where it is. So f*** ScheifMe and his rare good game that reinforces that little voice in his head that says, "yer a superstar, buddy, yer a superstar, keep doin' what yer doin'". :thumbd:

Maybe you can tell... I'm in the hate him crowd. Plus, also pissed they got a loser point. Puts off that magical moment when they are mathematically eliminated once and for all and I can uncork the good bubbly to celebrate. Thanks for playing down to our level, Colorado.

Ya but might as well play someone that hopefully has a future on the team than some guy we picked up on waivers and is gone this summer no?
I just don’t get the Gus love, he’s another version of more of the same in the bottom six, so-so player who can’t put up points at the NHL level!

I know that there are many on here that love Brendan Dillon's play and what he brings to this team since Buff's departure. However, I find myself again questioning his decison making late in a tight hockey game. What was he doing with 17 seconds left in the PK in OT? Instead of ringing it around the boards on his forehand he does a poor back pass to Demelo who had a guy on him. We never touched the puck again before we picked it out of our net. I am sorry but I am not a fan of his late game hockey IQ.

As a positive, I really liked our compete level tonight. I can handle losing games when we come to play. Sure. Helle had a rough outing but hopefully the coach next year is better at managing his workload.

Nice to see 55 and 27 clicking. We have some nice picees moving forward despite the tear it down mentality that has been prevalent around here as of late.

We certainly need to make changes and especially behind the bench but no need to burn down the house.

I will duck for cover. Constructive criticism welcome. Attack the post not the poster.

Imagine, being somebody who even has a very basic understanding of hockey, thinking that Nikolaj Ehlers should play less than top line minutes.
It's like Maurice and now Lowry have it in for him almost.
He farts in their general direction and he is demoted a line or two..

Yes, very true, and also # 1 power play time. This team plays better "without" Wheeler in the lineup -- I'd love the Jets to get rid of him, thru trade or buyout.

I'd be trading Dillion this summer. I think Samberg can grow into that role.

How's Montreal been doing with the coach that said "here's a general blueprint of what I want, use your smarts and work within it" rather than "ignore what you think you should do, play within this system or you won't play"?

That is exactly the kind of offensive scheme we need. As I have said a number of times our hockey opps department is full of grinders and role players. We need someone in it that understands how the highly skilled players think the game.

I'd like Vincent here as that is exactly what was observed on the Moose last year.

Schiefele played like a great # 1 center tonight, and when posters on here suggest trading him, especially on a great contract, may not be be very wise at all. The guy has big talent, but maybe has some depression or something that causes his inconsistency ?? At this time I would not trade him, unless the return was BIG.

This comes down to Coaching and getting someone that can inspire, and motivate players, and Lowry is not that guy. He sort of puts you to sleep listening to him talk. Not bad assistant tho.
