Pu, apart from the goal, has been having another rough night. Bad decisions on the PP, and his line has getting bottled up in the D zone for withering pressure by the Spits. Max Jones has been great.

Edit: And of course as soon as I talk down his performance, Pu is instrumental in the insurance goal, gaining possession in the d zone, skating it out, chipping it past a rather disinterested-looking Sergachev and chasing it down, setting up Max Jones.

So what you're saying is Pu will be Bylsma's fav

The Knights especially in the last month have not been at their best. They have a lot of fast but seemingly small and timid Dmen who get hemmed in a lot. Pu is trying to cover up in front but the Dmen cannot prevent the opposing forwards from getting unpinned in the corner and coming into the slot. Friday night he was battling and slid the puck to his goalie who could not handle it and another free Otter jammed it in. The trades the Knights made have not made them a better team from where I sit--despite those additions having big reps.

@SabresProspects - London fell to Erie Saturday, now in 3-2 series hole. Knights looking to stave off elimination tonight at home. Cliff Pu Playoffs - 12GP 1-4-5.
Pu To Sabres? A few years away. Back to OHL next season. Look to play for Canada at this years WJC in Buffalo. Rochester the year after that. Standard developmental timeline.

Vic Soga‏ @VicSoga1 - Watched Pu in the playoffs. Some games put in checking role. Will fit in RW with Larsson in checking row. One of best faceoff guys. Fast too.
@SabresProspects - Yes, duties shifted a bit after Knights loaded up at deadline. Good for his development as it should suit future use. Good mid line elements

Devin‏ @dddddddevin - As an Erie fan watching these games, I think he's been better than the stats show. Very noticeable. To me at least.
@SabresProspects - I agree with you. He has been. Stats don't tell the full story in juniors - both for 40+ goal guys and those in different/shutdown roles.

Game #6 Updates - Erie leads 1-0 after one period of play. Otters goal was scored just 47 seconds in. Pu - 0 Shots On Goal - wasn't on the ice when Erie scored - 0 for 2 on Face-Offs.
London has tied the game here in the second period via a power-play goal by Janne Kuokkan.
End Second Period - Erie 1 London 1. Pu went 2 for 4 on Face-Offs in the second period.
Parsons with a couple of huge saves here in the third period - keeping the Knights tied with the Otters at 1. Pu is now 3 for 8 in Face-Offs.
End Third Period - Erie 1 London 1. Pu lost two face-offs since the last update - now 3 for 10. (Pu finished 3 of 13 on Face-Offs.)
GOAL!!! LONDON WINS IT! Mitchell Stephens with the game winning goal. 9:44 of the first overtime. Game #7 - Erie, Pennsylvania - Tuesday, April 18 - 7:00 pm ET.

@GoLondonKnights - PUUUUUU!!!!! @cliffp_28 gets his first goal of the series! The Knights are ahead by two!
LaxSabre - The Cliff Pu goal gives London a 3-1 lead over Erie in the first period.
London scored their three goals in the span of four minutes. Erie did have a early 1-0 lead.
Cliff Pu has two points so far - he assisted on the first London goal which was scored by Janne Kuokkanen via the power-play.
Pu face-off win led to the goal. He finished the period - 6 for 9 in face-offs.
Winner of the game plays the Owen Sound Attack - starting Friday at home - for the Western Conference Championship.
Erie scores a VERY late goal (19:59) to get within one goal. End First Period - London 3 Erie 2.

After the first period saw five goals scored - the second period saw neither team score a goal.
Erie did have their chances - 21 shots were fired on Knights goalie Tyler Parsons.
End Second Period - London 3 Erie 2. Pu was 2 for 10 face-offs in the period.

Erie has tied the game on a goal by Anthony Cirelli - 5:14 into the third period.
London just had a goal taken away due to a high-stick from Robert Thomas. Still 3-3 - 11 minutes remaining in the third period.
Sigh - Alex DeBrincat scores for the Otters - 16:29 into the third period - Erie leads London 4-3. Late power-play for the Knights.
@GoLondonKnights - STEPPHHENNNSSS!!!! Mitchell Stephens scores to tie the game back up at 4 on the power play!!! WHAT A PLAY!!!!
LaxSabre - Goal was scored at 19:00 of the third period. End Third Period - London 4 Erie 4.
Tyler Parsons with 52 saves through three periods. Pu - 13 for 24 in face-offs through three periods.

Sigh - Warren Foegele wins it for Erie - 10:40 into the first overtime.
Erie Otters wins the game 5-4 - wins series 4-3 - advances to the Western Conference Finals where they will play Owen Sound Attack.
London Knights and Cliff Pu have been eliminated from the OHL Playoffs.

Better game but still a disappointing showing. He wasn't ready to go up against either one of Erie's top two centers: Cirelli or Strome.

His game definitely fell off since getting the snub from Team Canada

Congrats to Pu on the honors.

And Juolevi was third team last year. If there is a conversation it might be Sergachev dropping from first team to second, though it's hard to argue with the production from Centorame and Raddysh on the first team.

I guess I expected juolevi to improve more in his draft plus one.

Did sergachev struggle a lot after his cup of coffee?

Pu seems to have all the tools but as noted by others his game seemed to regress in the latter part of the season. Sometimes he just seemed to quit on plays that earlier he would have found more effort. I can see a few down games but he just seemed to lose his mojo in too many games--especially for a guy with size and talent like he has. I hope he pushes himself because he can be a good nhler.

Juolevi and Sergachev both regressing makes taking Nylander that year look much smarter now.

I just don't see Pu's ceiling higher than the 3rd line. He was supposed to take a step up after the all-stars taking all the minutes left his team and he didn't shine.

He shined for a good portion of the year, but faded towards the end of the year.

If serge and juolevi regressed, how did nylander show big growth. Seems like they all had up and down seasons and we still have a hole in our defensive pipeline.

I never said that Nylander showed big growth. I stated that people whining that we didn't pick a defenseman with a first in that draft because of need have more reason to bite their tongue now.

I was just browsing over at hockeydb.com, and saw Cliff Pu near the top of the trending list. I thought for a second he was traded.

Didn't HBO just start a month run of Kung Fu Panda? That could be the reason........
