Nice contribution to the conversation!!

Claude would have been fired in 2011 if it wasn't for Thomas. That's my opinion.

Pierre McGuire stated recently he knows for a fact that Julien would have been fired in 2011 if they had lost to Tampa in the ECF.

1. Bruins PR dept should all be fired
2. Where was Cam Neely?
3. This team isnt a playoff caliber team - face it.

Cam wanted to be there but he was out trying to return the gift they had bought for Claude for coaching his 1000th game. He's at 997, 1000 would have came against the Habs on Sunday.

Jacobs: Did you get Claude's gift?
Cam: yep here is the change from your $50.
Jacobs: When is 1000 anyway
Cam: Sunday against the Habs.
Jacobs: Habs- he coached for them too, hope they don`t get a nicer gift for him
Cam: I could return this one and get something nicer or just return it..........

All Jokes aside, the handling of his firing seems no more professional than the crap I wrote above. Full disclosure I am not a bruins fan, worse I am a Habs fan. Looking from the outside, maybe it was time for a change but he is certainly not the reason for this mess or the B`s biggest problem.

The fact that they do it 3 games before a 1000, on the day of the patriots parade, and Neely and Jacobs don`t have the balls to show up and speak to the media says volumes about what is wrong with this franchise.

We need to get the B`s back to being dominant- Its way more fun playing you guys in the playoffs when you are the favorite.

I didn't know this. Thanks! And I do believe if it wasn't for Thomas, we wouldn't have beaten Montreal and if it wasn't for Thomas stopping all of those odd-man rushes against Tampa, they would have beat us.

To repeat, bleep this team.

Today has been liberating in a way for me.

I had been clinging to every loss as of late and really feeling upset about the playoff math and Clode's impending fate.

I'm relieved it's over and I feel "free". I haven't missed a game since 2002 with DVR, but I couldn't care less about the games I'll miss in March when I go to spring training now.

true. Like I said in the first thread.
Claude not winning more than 1 cup from 09-14 was embarrassing.
Thomas got him the Cup.
2013 we basically lost in the first round to the Leafs

Yes, typically the Stanley Cup champions have great goaltending.

President Cam Neely issued the following statement:

“These decisions are not easy, and Don has my full support. I believe that we have a better team than our results to date show. I also recognize that there are areas that we as a group need to improve upon. This decision does not in any way diminish Claude’s legacy as a Bruins coach. I would like to wish him and his family all the best moving forward.â€

So I got off from work, and my old boss and friend - a Pens fan, alas - texts me:

"Huh. So a new coach, huh?"
I respond, "What're you talking about???"
"Who's this cassidy guy??"

....This sucks. Claude's system might be outdated, but he was by far a solid coach. I'm concerned that the grass may not be green on the other side right now.

In his defense, Neely was busy. Harry had him check Wikipedia to see if Fred creighton was still alive to coach the team....

Winning ONLY 1 cup in 5 seasons is embarrassing?

People talk about Thomas like he lead some Cinderella 8th seed to a cup they never deserved.

Bruin were one of the best teams in hockey in 2011. The best 5 on 5 team in the sport. The games best shut-down tandem in Chara-Seidenberg. The best shut-down 1-2-3 center ice combo in the sport in Krejci-Bergeron-Kelly.

Give it a decent PP and they probably steamroll their way to a cup.

Thomas played a huge part, but the lack of credit the rest of the group gets is comical here sometimes.

Bruins Owner Jeremy Jacobs

"I want to thank Claude for his service to the Boston Bruins, and wish him and his family the best in the future. I am confident in the direction and vision that Don has for our team, and look forward to seeing the results on the ice."

Bruins CEO Charlie Jacobs

"Claude Julien is the all-time winningest coach in Boston Bruins history, and my family and I join Bruins fans in thanking him for the many great memories that have come while he has been behind the Bruins bench.

As a management team, we set a high standard for ourselves, and I believe that our organization is moving in the right direction towards meeting and exceeding those standards."

No matter what they do it will be the wrong thing to some people at this point ,

Will be lots of room on the bandwagon in a few years

How many of you are aware that the back up goalies have a combined 1 win in 17 games and have brutal numbers?

As far as comments about players tuning out Julien, how many of you are aware that the Bruins lead the league in shot differential per game by a mile? Even if the shots for are a bit misleading, they still allow the second least shots against per game and outplay their opponents on most nights. This team has been sunk by the brutal back up goaltending, how is that Julien's fault?

And yet a very similar team, except with a far less experienced defense and a different goalie, made it to the SCF two years later, with the goalie posting superior numbers to Tim Thomas.

Nothing to do with the system or coaching at all!

Totally agree. Take out anyone out of that 2011 roster and they probably don't win the cup.

Horton with the OT winner in game 7 vs. the habs and the only goal in the game 7 win over Tampa. Without Horton we don't win.

Bergy - doing everything right all the time without him we don't win

Marchand punching sedin in the face because he felt like it. without him we don't win.

Lucic running over people and telling Borrows to bit his finger. without him we don't win

speaking of fingers does anyone think we win without Ferences finger that year?

Take out Ryder and his glove save (that Thomas was out of position to make) without that we don't win.

no Raptor Jesus and Cage Kelly to win a game against the habs all alone while the rest of the team didn't step up that game. Without them we don't win.

Krejci leading the post season in points that year. without him we don't win.

Chara shutting down everyone and everything on the ice. without him we don't win.

Bergy getting hurt and seguin coming into tampa and lighting it up. without him we don't win.

that list goes on and on that 2011 run was a total team effort and took everyone to win. Thomas played fantastic and deserved the MVP but he was not at all the only reason CJ won the cup not even close.
