This is what I've been thinking. We seem to have a ton of depth, but none that you'd really feel comfortable with moving up the lineup if needed. I'd feel comfortable moving Gagner into the top 6 if there are injuries and then, I don't know, Barron? Not a great place to be in if the injury bug hits our top 6.

Injury to Scheif or PLD, who plays top 6C? Perfetti, Lowry, Toni, Gus?
Have to try Perfetti from that list, but if he can't handle it we are hooped.

Someone tell me how to feel
Just try to go with the "flow", (as in his hair flowing in the breeze around the ice in warmups). Hee, hee, her...

Maybe even Manelainen. He is positionally strong and knows how to take a pass, give one back and hits most moving objects around him regularly. Could be deceptively disruptive against steeper competition in a higher role?

only the elite teams (estimating 2-4 teams) actually have the depth in the bottom 6 to fill in if 2 players in the top 6 go down, Yes its an issue, but the majority of the clubs in the NHL are dealt the same hand.

I do agree to an extent. But 1 injury to pld has saku m. In the top 6. PLD will be fine though I presume. But we also have 4.7m in cap space (estimating once players get sent down) whereby you can probably get 1-2 middle 6 options.

I don't think that's accurate at all and especially not with teams that go with a scoring top 9. Hell Montreal, one of the worst teams in the league, can move most of their lineup into the top 6 without them looking out of place. That's another issue with a strict top 6/bottom 6, if you do a scoring top 9 you can whittle down to a top 6/bottom 6 in the event of injuries, but if that's where you're at to begin with you're immediately down to a one line team with a couple injuries.

Barron is a center, I'd go with him before Toni. Lowry, or Gus. And don't forget about Wheeler! :sarcasm:

I guess we disagree. And what I meant is the bottom 6 player being able to replace the production of the injured top 6 player. Either way Im not as down on the bottom 6 as some posters here are. At least not until the boys play 10-15 games.

Doesn't that say more about their top 6 though? :)

Who?

*Cue the Beverly Hills Cop "Axel Foley" theme*

He sounds like a left-handed version of Brandon Tanev.

I wonder if Gus is being sent down, and Harkins or Barron take up 4C?

Couldn’t be worse than the overrated Svetch of last year. Then again, we all agreed that last year was unacceptable…

Caps fans aren't surprised he was picked up. Sounds like he knows his role and plays to his abilities and strengths which appears to be strong on the forecheck and PK

I actually like Arniel as a coach and think that Axel might surprise some folks. Sounds like a Taney without the scoring. Definitely a 4th line guy tho. Any history with Gus?

twss

on point he had the all important tnse connection

Are you pretending this doesn't exist in life? Ffs my dad got me my job

I wouldn’t be surprised if Chevy is trying to trade Stanley but most teams are still trying to figure out what they have in the current lineup so no deals are out there. Yet.

It is a bit odd that they haven't officially announced the roster yet so does make you wonder if we see a trade
