Nice to see Cizikas hard work paying off.
I'm not taking a swipe at Nino, who I still have very high hopes for, but couldn't the isles have been looking for Nino to be playing with the same energy Cizikas is playing with, on last season's 4th line?
If you remember Casey's one man penalty kill at the World Junior a couple years back it says it all.
Since I do not know to, ITM might find it and post it.
Unfortunately there are not too many players in the NHL that play with the tenacity of Cizikas.
Is he going to change his number or is that a number he has had for a while?
Cizikas wore #11 in Juniors, for Team Canada, and also for Bridgeport.
I have liked the kid since his draft year. I think he has future 3rd line center written all over him, and a possible letter one day.
For sure, he is a true leader, always has been. SOme people are 'lead by example' types, and there's no question his hustle and hard work is infectious and sparks whatever team he has played for. BUT he is also very vocal on the ice, he's a cerebral player that knows the game very well and is an excellent communicator on the ice in all situations.
With Tavares and Cizikas they have a couple of very mature young kids to lead the locker room for a long time.
FWIW if I may, these are qualities that I think very highly of and allow players to achieve more than perhaps they otherwise would have, and a BIG reason why I am So very high on Ryan Strome and Anders Lee. I think Reinhart and Pelech may take the next level in leadership next season if they are allowed to return to Juniors.
Apparently, playing on line 4 with Reasoner would turn Mario Lemieus into Joel Rechlitz.Nice to see Cizikas hard work paying off.

i was thinking the same thing.
ive been happy with cizikas so far this year, he hustles, plays the game right, and has a scorers touch. he is a perfect 3/4 line guy, but i can see him playing in the top 6 in the future as a winger to keep teams honest.
You guys have Tim MacLean to thank for Casey Cizikas.
Believed in the guy when there was concern at how his past history would look if Isles drafted him.
Pounded the table for him and went to bat for him, even though it might have been just as easy for MacLean to take the easy and safe way out by not being an advocate for a player with a checkered past.
Moral courage- one more key ingredient in a scout...and he was the driving force behind Matt Martin too.
