Christopher Nolan’s Next Film to be an Adaptation of Homer’s Odyssey Slated for A 2026 Release

I’m absolutely on board with this. Of the names announced, my assumption would be Damon as Odysseus, so that irks me slightly as I want my boy to be an ugly mug like he should be, but regardless I’m doubly looking forward to a) anything directed by Nolan, and b) a big budget adaptation of Homer.

What young actors like Chalamet and Zendaya did for Dune (for example) as far as getting the younger generations to go to the movies obviously plays into the casting.

The real question is whether he's going to screw around with the timeline of the film as he appears to do like 50% of the time.

It will no doubt be mesmerizing when he explodes a real 1000 ft tall Trojan Horse in front of 2 million real extras shot from low Earth orbit but I’m disappointed he’s going back in time as opposed to contemporary or futuristic subjects.

I don't mind these two, tbh.
Zendaya is talented enough and Chalamet has an aura about him. I don't think they looked out of their depth in Dune.

At this point, you gotta give Nolan the benefit of the doubt here.
He’s managed to succeed in every movie he’s made across different genres.

Agreed. Everything else has just been icing on the cake.

Tenet is his weakest of the bunch I’d say but even that was still a good movie. Just not a great one though.

I have always admired how Stanley Kubrick touched different genres and subjects and Nolan is doing the same thing.

I doubt he's doing a period piece set in Ancient Greece. It'll probably be a metaphorical story set in modern times.

As the spear slowly flies through the air, an ad executive in the future is pitching the latest in interstellar exploration, on a ship called the Odyssey.

Back to the spear slowly moving through the air.

The Odyssey goes into faster-than-light mode and then everyone on the ship starts moving around backwards due to the time dilation.
