I’m absolutely on board with this. Of the names announced, my assumption would be Damon as Odysseus, so that irks me slightly as I want my boy to be an ugly mug like he should be, but regardless I’m doubly looking forward to a) anything directed by Nolan, and b) a big budget adaptation of Homer.

Certainly never would have guessed that would be his next project.

Curious to see how this turns out, not exactly the most inspired casting choices I've ever seen though.

Nolanphiles will go regardless.

What young actors like Chalamet and Zendaya did for Dune (for example) as far as getting the younger generations to go to the movies obviously plays into the casting.

The real question is whether he's going to screw around with the timeline of the film as he appears to do like 50% of the time.

"Odysseus is going backwards at this part of the film, while his crew go forwards at 1/5 speed, while the weather freezes in time."

I just discovered this and burst out laughing. Of course you are, Christopher.

It will no doubt be mesmerizing when he explodes a real 1000 ft tall Trojan Horse in front of 2 million real extras shot from low Earth orbit but I’m disappointed he’s going back in time as opposed to contemporary or futuristic subjects.

Unless one of the characters is LITERALLY going back in time.

"Odysseus! This man claims to be a historian from the future."

I don't mind these two, tbh.
Zendaya is talented enough and Chalamet has an aura about him. I don't think they looked out of their depth in Dune.
