Player Discussion Christian Dvorak Part 2

Dvorak needs to get moved for everyone's sanity. I think he's a player that GMs view differently than the fans. I don't expect much in return, but I suspect KH will move him sometime this year to clear the way for another C

With Dach on the wing and Kapanen back in Europe, we likely won't see Dvorak moved anytime soon. Hopefully he can keep playing well with Gally/Anderson and at least build up some value for the trade deadline.

I’ve never been a big fan of Dvo’s game and truly believe we have 4+ players that could provide some jump if brought up from the Rockets. Dvo is a solid depth vet on a good team however he is just to vanilla on our struggling club. Realistically what’s his value, a 4th at best. Maybe we need to place him and Primeau on waivers. We still have a very young group & it might provide some excitement for these guys to see the GM doing his job by shaking up personnel.

5 points and 55.2% on faceoffs in his last 6 games, he's been playing a lot better since put with Gallagher/Anderson.
I mean it was only up after how he started out, he was probably the worst forward in the NHL. He still sucks, he's incredibly lazy defensively and his points increased because of Gally. I still won't complain if it means we can trade him.

Picking KK where the Habs did. Especially with what we know now.

If they didn't pick KK they don't trade for Dvorak.
if they didn't take KK MB would have made an even worse move for a centre.

Why would they place Primeau on waivers. he is fine where he is. If Hughes goes then they will need him.

Dvorak is a great example why one should never fall in love with mediocrity. Never build your team from bottom to top and expect that these specialists and role players may have a little extra in their sleeves when given the opportunity. They don't, and suddenly you're stuck with a pricey bottom-six that isn't even particularly great. A terrible acquisition which only deepened a previous mistake. Soon he will be gone and another scar caused by Bergevin' ineptitude may begin to heal.

Never been so excited to see a player off the team.

It's not even his fault really, he's always been a mediocre JAG signed in a panic by a GM who believed supporting players were more valuable than pure talent, but he's so boring and lifeless without any of the magic that some of the other mediocre players on this team are least sometimes give us.

Dont't forget what that moron Bergevin gave up for him. With the 2022 first round pick, we could have save the Mesar bust by picking Kulich right after.

On top of that, he gave a 2nd in 2024... Which could have see us taking Lane's brother Cole.

f*** that turd forever.

If he accepts Evans deal do you sign him?

I would in a heartbeat. When a line is this good at 5v5, you don’t touch it. Gally and Andy are machinal players, they like to play the same way every shift, now that you’ve find a recipe that works for them after 2 years, don’t swap Dvo for a rookie C for god’s sake. Unnecessary risk.

The last time we had a line with better 5v5 numbers was Gally-Danault-Tatar. We all remember what our offense looked like after Danault/tatar walked.

The difference this time is that our « low IQ possession line » is our 3rd line which is perfect.

And at 3mil Dvo would be easily tradeable if we want to make room later on.

As for me, I certainly don't want Dvo to be back. In the last few days, it's the best Dvo that we could see, All other 3 years, he has been bad. His offence has been so limited.
Assuming that we'll get a good 2C, I prefer to give the 3rd C to Newhook, Dach, Kapanen, Evans or Beck. Or we can acquire another 3C.

15 good games and you want Christian Dvorak for 4 years?

i think Kapanen and Beck still need some time in the AHL next season. but provided the 2C position is filled via trade this summer, i'd rather have Newhook with Gallagher and Anderson than keep Dvorak.
