I understand the emotional reaction against Prust but
I don't think you're giving him near enough credit. I personally don't like him either but the guy deserves credit for his actions (not words).
Although he doesn't win a lot of fights he's a team first guy who is willing to fight the heavies. He's fought Hordichuk, Boll, Bissonnette, Janssen, Staubitz, Peters, Gillies, Lucic, Rupp, Engelland, Boulton, Martin, Rosehill, Sestito, Neil, and McLaren over the past 4 years. He fights a lot. Gryba's heavyweight fight card is non-existent at the NHL level. As much as I like Gryba, he's not in the same league as Prust in terms of fighting ability.
Technically as a fighter Neil is miles ahead of him, but he's a guy who will step up the plate and fight anyone. And,
as much as his comment about Paulrus was incredibly stupid, it doesn't make him a bad character guy. I think his teammates probably think pretty highly of him. Not to mention he's a warrior like Neil and will play through pretty much any injury.
"One of Brandon Prust's ribs separated from its cartilage. That's painful enough. Then, the Montreal Canadiens winger pushed the rib back into place—himself."
