Chris Kreider Part II: OT God

Played another good game tonight. Threw a lot of HUGE hits. It was almost like after the first one he said to himself "Wow, I kinda like doing this, let's do it again!" and proceeded to plow over two more players. That's where he's going to succeed. Banging in the corners and shooting whenever he has a chance.

Hopefully he carries that over to next year. Love how he plays his best hockey in the playoffs too. Hopefully Torts (if he's still around) just let's him play next year and worries a little bit less about the system aspect. Certain players need a little bit of a leash and a looser grip to play their best game, some need to be on a leash the entire time. I think Kreider is the former. I think our entire roster could use some of that.

Kreider was very good the past 2 games, sucks he got stuck on the bottom lines at the start, so much ruined

Why doesn't he throw his weight around like that more often? With his speed & size he should be chasing pucks down, banging bodies, and harassing the **** out of opposing players who have the puck (like Hagelin does).

Kreider has learned how to play the pro game. He is using his size and strength. Too bad Kreider wasn't given the opportunity until game 4 and down 3-0 in the series. Getting pucks out of the zone. Being hard on the puck. Playing a heavy game. That's how you win in the playoffs.

He received a fine how-do-you-do early in the game when he was in a puck pursuit with Chris Kreider and the former Boston College star got under Seidenberg, who usually delivers the hits, and put him on his backside. Kreider did it once more before the shift was over and it looked like Seidenberg’s comeback would be short-lived. It took a while for the defenseman to gather himself before finally getting up.

“They were hard hits,†said Seidenberg, who was on the ice for two of the Bruins goals. “I’m fine. He’s a thick kid, and usually that doesn’t happen, but I just lost balance. It was a good hit.â€

On being slow to get up, Seidenberg said, “I lost a little bit of my breath. That came back a little bit later, but for the most part, again, it was a good hit. You just have to shake it off and keep going.â€

Torts did his very best to ruin Kreider this year. Yet, another reason he can't be the coach of this team next season.
