There seems to be a weird lag on the "official" announcements of this stuff in some cases. The Smith to Penn State thing was definitely reported (I specifically remember reading about it on Sportsnet) a couple weeks ago. The Lindstrom to Michigan State was all but confirmed a couple months ago, only to be made "official," what, last week? I assume it's probably related to making sure that all eligibility requirements are met or something.

The school can't officially release anything until the signing is official, whatever that means.

Some kids are making their own social media posts to announce, other media outlets are having rumors confirmed either with the program or the players/families/advisors prior to signing becoming 'officially' official.

Said it sounds like it’s coming down to Penn State and Michigan State.
