CHL to NCAA Commits

Now that the CHL playoffs and Memorial Cup are done, will there be more Big commits to the Big schools?.
Ivankovic was the 1st, now talk of McKenna, Martone, Misa and others.
Maybe the Big schools are working hard getting the NIL money organized.
I would not be surprised to see other top guys going NCAA in the coming weeks.

I would put Malcolm Spence, Jackson Smith, Cole Reschny, and Keaton Verhoeff in the big commits category (probably bigger than Ivankovic actually, since all of those guys will definitely be first-rounders this year, or next year in Verhoeff's case).

I figure Misa is most likely to go - he's already got three years in the OHL under his belt, won a Memorial Cup, put up goofy numbers this year. He could go to Penn State for a year, play with his brother, and if he tears it up, probably burn a year on his entry-level deal after the college season ends.

Really wouldn't be surprised if the majority of the CHL prospects projected to go in the first, or thereabouts go south, actually. Just seems like its following in the footsteps of USNTDP/USHL-to-NCAA-for-a-year-or-two as the en vogue route now, and there aren't many (if any) players expected to immediately jump to the NHL next season, not even Schaefer.

I would expect an announcement about McKenna soon. I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't go (Michigan, right?).

Good points. I missed the Victoria guys. Thought of them, Smith and Spence but got lazy and didn't add.

I'm getting slack...

He’s a good story btw . Started the season with Truro of the MHL , great numbers in the Q .

I know kids came from other Jr.A leagues when the rule changed but the MHL essentially produces zero D.1 players and he was a “call-up” as opposed to a guy jumping leagues because of the rule change (had already played a few QMJHL games).

Cayden Lindstrom, Medicine Hat to Michigan.

Is McKenna close behind?
If McKenna goes …Michigan plays at Harvard back to back nights at the end of November … If the Bruins play during that stretch too that doesn’t seem like a bad little trip… sure easier than going heading to Medicine Hat.

Yeah, fwiw, it's Michigan STATE that Lindstrom's going to, and McKenna's somebody they're very interested in - though Penn State and Boston College are also in the running.

I can't remember which of those schools Ryder Ritchie is rumoured to be going to, but that's possibly a factor in McKenna's decision, apparently. (Source: An article I read this morning on a website I can't remember.)

I'm certain Elite Prospects had him in Michigan. Just looked and it's changed.

Friedman said on 32 thoughts that McKenna is going on some visits and some those he talked with said Penn State was the most likely landing spot … My biggest takeaway is that no one has a sweet clue what’s going on lol
