Part of winning championships is wanting it so bad you completely let go of sportsmanship.

This is a conversation we are not ready to have as a society.

Nonsense.

Playing on the edge and occasionally going overboard is not at all the same thing as "completely letting go of sportsmanship".

Perhaps you've never heard of Jean Beliveau? Bob Gainey? Larry Robinson?

Or more recently, MacKinnon, Datsyuk, ROR, Kopitar... All leaders on championship winning teams, all awarded the league's sportsmanship award.

One think i learned from Beck this year, it’s that he plays with an edge and some toughness. I’m happy and relieved. But that play was stupid though.

I was scared he was a Jake Evans softness clone.

Bob Gainey was one nasty bugger!

So was big bird, but neither would be described as lacking sportsmanship...

Heck, Gainey, despite his role & style, only had one season with more than 50pims.

Sportsmanship doesn't mean playing soft, or gentle, or without an edge.

Yeah stupid by Beck and that now hurts his team.

No change of course that I am still high on Beck. For sure I see him as a 3C , but I think there is some potential there of being a tremendous 200 foot 2C.

Holy shit! Didn't think it warranted that! A game definitely, although technically he just got 2 games. Really dumb move by Beck.

Hopefully, Peterborough wins out at home on Sunday.
What a f***ing joke why is this league on Beck's case to this extent. I haven't agreed with any of the additional disciplinary actions Beck has received going back to his suspension in the regular season. Even his shoulder to the head was a bullshit call he never extended upwards the dudes head just happened to be at shoulder level It wasn't a hit from behind. Does Dale Hunter run the f***ing league POS that he WAS as a player?

This turns me off the Pete's game totally. Beck was one of the reasons they were leading the series and it probably ensures London goes through to the Memorial Cup.

L'Heureux and Beck at the Memorial Cup, the Hansons are back.
I would trade for L'Heureux too. With unpredictable guys like Beck, L'Heureux and Mailloux on the ice the opposition need to be on watch all the time. Now they will have to tone it down in the playoffs because as Habs they will be targeted by the refs as opposed to someone like Gudas who gets to run around and do whatever he wants.

Beck has been noticeable, but it was been Avon who has driven the Petes’ offence. The absence of Beck doesn’t guarantee a win for London.

Yes Sir that third line has been the difference maker. Beck takes a ton of their D zone starts it may hurt there however.
