Very fun series.

Ice were a bit snakebit. Savoie 0 goals, McClennon 1 goal. Geekie and Ostapchuk were well neutralized all series.

I'd be surprised if the Q and O teams can compete with Seattle or Kamloops at home.

It's not a joke mate... watch the 4 teams that are still battling out there... Barely any under 6 feet dude...
I have no idea though how we could what one particuler year of playoffs and come to a conclusion when the year before and after, there are completely different teams. We hear how goaltending is totally unimportant...but then Vasilievksi won TBay some cups. We hear that dangles and smaller players can't do it, but then Point and Kucherov played key roles etc.

you need a mix of players. If I have Benson and Caufield on my team, yeah, maybe it surely means no room for Farrell. No room for Mesar. No room for even Roy who isn't small per se....maybe no room for anybody else under 6' that doens't play a big game.

But you should NEVER refrain to pick great because you have something else in your lineup that in the end, are completely replaceable. Just do the list. You draft Benson. I will tell you that he AUTOMATICALLY comes ahead of Mesar. Easily. And then with Farrell....well maybe not yet...but I know I would.

Man, I do like Benson, but I just don’t think there’s enough there to consider him at 5.

Same. I watch him and have nightmares of habs teams being held to the outside, praying to get a bounce. Wasn't able to beat the first line cleanly once in my viewing. He still managed to create, but like I've been saying, from the outside ala Berggren.

Talking about Davidson... he exploded at one moment
Well the 20-21 season he didn't play a lot of games, but was coming alreayd to a PPG player. Then a little more the year after and actually stayed quite the same this year to what he was the year before.

I actually don't think he could be a good pro scorer....but could very well be a really serviceable 3rd liner at the AHL Level. And then...you watch the development.

I mean... Benson-Savoie-McClennon were never supposed to beat Schaefer-Lambert-Guenther head-to-head.
There's a massive disparity in age, physical maturity and pro games there. Anything else was wishful thinking.

Thought it was reported in one of the games versus Halifax that he had actually signed somewhere? Oh well, I'm too lazy to look that up.

Signed a 2-year deal with Lausanne starting 2022-2023 and they let him go back to the Q this year. His language makes me think they'd let him go again in 2023-2024 if he got NHL interest.

Milic MVP. As far as signing him....I mean it can't be bad. Though for people who want to see a Devon Levi type...he's not it. Milic is good technically. But never as explosive as Levi.

Fun to see Davidson enjoying this!

But that trophy won't finish in one piece...lol

Point and Kucherov are bad examples IMO as those two learned the hard way and actually embraced the PO style!

Point is playing as the bumper on their PP... He's sacrificing his body for the team.

And that team never won shit till they got the Colleman and Goodrows of this world, the Gourde, Cirrelli, and maroons...

The overall result is expected, of course, and I'm not saying he was bad. I'm just saying he was held to the outside.

Say what you will about Smith or Wood, there's plenty to criticize in their games, but this criticism is likely to hold true for them in the same circumstances.

I could definitely live with Benson at 5, hell of a playmaker and an absolute gamer. His size definitely is a bit worrisome, also not sold on his shot. A solid skater, good edgework, but would like to see another gear in time. I can definitely see him being pretty special in a few years if his development goes to plan and he seems like he's the type to put all the work in. Definitely have a tough decision at 5, lots of options.

Also Zloty is going to drive head coaches insane.

I kinda forgot about Kamloops....they will be out for revenge. To me, that will be the Mem Cup Finals...Seattle vs Kamloops. Kamloops has also a scary lineup....Stankhoven, Bankier, Seminoff, Demek, Minten....Zellwegger on the back end...Ernst in net...

Well by saying that you could have Caufield and Benson in a lineup, it then also mean that you will surround them with bigger bodies.

Just saying...do not refrain from picking quality because you have quantity around.

So what you're saying is they already had two guys under 6' in their top 9. Then they added two more to help win multiple cups.

Tampa had three players in their top 9 over 6' (Stamkos, Killorn, Goodrow). Pittsburgh only had two (Malkin, Bonino).

We already have Slaf and Dach. Add any of Dubois, Anderson, Heineman and we're already bigger up front than either of those teams.
What we are NOT, is anywhere near as skilled.

Brad Lambert played well for Seattle this year after stalling last year in Liiga & struggling in AHL at beginning of season.

26gp: 17g 21a for 38 pts

17 gp in playoffs: 6g, 20a for 26 pts
Mesar pick looks worse by the day.
