Yep, obviously there are a number of schools that could take Martone to the next level, I just have been so impressed with W Mich's ability to develop power forwards that I think it would be a match made in heaven.

Also true, curious if one day we will see a prospect enter an adverse development situation in search of excessive NIL. Not saying that is the case here, but it's bound to happen eventually. An interesting calculation to make. Guaranteed money now or ideal development situation that may represent much more money later.

Are you sure? He had a save percentage just above .900 (.903) in the OHL. That does not scream sure starter as an 18 year old freshman in college hockey.
He won't commit somewhere that isn't planning to make him the starter. He'll have to lose the job to become the backup, not an open competition. Top NTDP/USHL level goaltenders can exert that kind of demand in their recruitment so not sure why you think he'd be any different. If you're a top 2 round pick, you're usually starting in NCAA the next year, just how it goes.
